SET LIST: Dara Ó Briain
By Jake Kroeger on June 13, 2014
If you ever talk to Troy Conrad, the man who created the improvised stand-up madness known as Set List, he’d tell you that one of the hardest things to pull off is tying the material a comedian makes up from every single topic similar to a well crafted, rehearsed stand up set. Trying to do so often results in getting lost in your own riffs. Irish comedian and TV personality Dara Ó Briain, however, was not only able to riff an entire cohesive set while doing Set List at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, but he was also able to connect a joke from the comic he followed in the last episode of Set List, Ed Byrne.
Ó Briain is one of the UK’s biggest comedians and has hosted several topical panel shows including The Panel and Mock The Week. So, drawing comedic connective tissue from a necrophilia joke seems like routine for him. See him work his magic in the video above.
