Exclusive: Tom Cruise and Chris Hardwick Talk EDGE OF TOMORROW

Couldn’t make it to Monday night’s Nerdist-sponsored Edge of Tomorrow screening? Too bad. And I’m not just saying that because Edge of Tomorrow is one of my favorite films of 2014 (read Kyle Anderson’s review for proof), but because freakin’ Tom Cruise was there! That’s right, Tom Cruise — in the flesh. Don’t start bawling your eyes out just yet though. We brought a camera to record the post-show Q&A between our very own Chris Hardwick and the other Stacee Jaxx, so you can relive the magic and get the inside scoop on how Cruise and company transformed a high concept Japanese manga into one of the hottest films of the summer season.

Edge of Tomorrow opens in theaters on Friday, June 6, 2014, and a very special Tom Cruise episode of the Nerdist Podcast drops that selfsame day! Are you excited for the film? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Not going to bother because you seem like a troll, but you do realize that what many of us here believe in fact a Nerd to be is anyone who is obsessively passionate about something. Car nerds, Sports Nerds, Movie Nerds, It’s more of an extra adjective to imply the level of love someone has for a subject. You don’t know Tom Cruise he could be a really huge nerd about silly string for all I care and that would in fact make him a nerd. You don’t know Chris Hardwick he may actually enjoy Tom Cruise’s company and might be excited to be in the presence of such an accomplished actor (which he is). If you don’t like the “The Nerdist” or don’t subscribe to the views of pathways it goes down then jump ship and take the lonely swim home. I on the other hand quite enjoy stories from other people and how things are made as well as just listening to people take because it is the only true way to gain wisdom whether it be a 5 year old or Tom Cruise. So good luck my friend I hope you find what your looking for.
