  • Pete, I noticed you used the phrase “The past is just a story we tell ourselves” which I assume you are quoting from Her (2013). I was wondering if you happen to see Stories We Tell (2012) from director Sarah Polley (currently on Netflix Instant). The film in some ways offers a deeper examination of how we arrive at our current understanding of our own past and the factors at play in shaping that narrative. It was among my favorite films of 2012 and I think you’d really dig it.

  • I’ve never heard of this lady before. But she was freakin funny. In universe life where I lived in America we dated and I was happy for a time. Lolzies.

But for real though such a great guest, such a great podcast. I’m so happy that you put these out Pete. It’s funny listening to so many of your podcasts it’s like you’re always finding new ways to say the same things. It’s great. To quote Rob Rufus: “It’s like walking up a spiral staircase, you keep coming round to the same view, but from a higher and higher place”.

Anyway, I need to go find out where other things Alice has done are on the line, because she’s funny and it’s the right thing to do.

  • Never heard of her before, but this episode made me a fan. I love this podcast, listen every week and I usually just laugh along internally. But on this one, I burst out a solid LOL at least 3 times. The story of the job posting for dean of the art school punched me right in the funny bone in my brain.

  • This episode is #2 after the Josh Ruben episode for me. I keep feeling like they mentioned the “new person every # years because our cells die and are replaced”.. Our brain cells replace themselves? I dunno..

  • Great ep!  I didn’t know of Alice beforehand and she was very likable.   As usual, Pete had great chemistry with her and they both had similar riffing tendencies.  She was very candid about several personal things and was genuinely funny and real throughout!  Pete and Alice – thanks for adding this to the world!
