  • Sounds like you had a very Merry Christmas, Alton! I’m your age, so we probably have similar memories, toy-wise (I got some Hot Wheels and Legos when I was 9 or 10 and my stepbrother & I spent one summer building a whole city out of Legos and ran our Hot Wheels tracks thru it & had a great time playing with those for at least a couple of summers until Mom told us to take it down when I turned 13) I made standing beef rib roast this year, but not for Christmas – we had it for New Years Day (and I put the leftover ribs in the crockpot with some bbq sauce and they cooked down fork-tender & my hubby enjoyed them on Jan 3rd for lunchtime at work) We usually always have Turkey for Thanksgiving, and ham for Christmas AND for Easter. (altho’ I was the only one of my siblings who was born in Los Angeles, CA… the rest of my family was from Wisconsin… we ate a lot of ham growing up – especially in split pea soups and “boiled dinner” – because there were 6 kids and a little food had to go a LONG way)

  • Just as you were saying what your first favorite Christmas present was, I was saying out loud (while walking the dog, mind you), “Mine was my Lost In Space robot.”. Not sure if it was 1968 or 1969. Anyway, extra ponts to Santa for remembering it was a Remco toy. Mine was red, too. Do you have any idea what those suckers go for on eBay?

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Thank you for the Browncast. Love the idea of chewing the ribs, but to stretch it we make a stew out of them (1 dinner) and then put the stew in puff pastry to make turnovers (2nd & most special dinner, next to the roast itself!). Wishing everyone a Happy New Year also!

  • Hey Alton. Happy Holidays.

I live in Wisconsin and ham is a staple at Christmas here. So I think Santa might be right, it could very well be a regional thing. But, we also have it at Easter too. So I hope this helps, somewhat anyway.

  • ▌▌▌▌▌ I just got paid $7500 working off my computer this month. And if you think that’s cool, my divorced friend has twin toddlers and made over $8k her first month. It feels so good making so much money when other people have to work for so much less. This is what I do, ➨➨➨➨➨➨➨➨CHECK44.COM
