  • Even though there’s PLENTY of reference online about the Topher Grace edit(s) of the STAR WARS prequels, the nerds I mention it to are totally unaware of the legend.

Although I have spewed about the ADYWAN edit(s) like a broken candy machine for years….

Not only am I pouring over the new site, I’m looking at EVERYTHING in the background art. There’s even stuff you can’t see due to the content panel down the middle: http://goo.gl/ctnQtx

    The transforming building from BIG
    Daily Bugle from Spiderman III
    Rocketeer helmet (squee!)
    “Know Thyself” from the Matrix

    Find more!

  • Ohhhh awesome. I’ve been waiting to hear him describe his SW edit.

Having blown a few thousand hours on a combined prequel edit myself, I’m very interested in what he came up with. I’m still deciding whether to just use sparse bits of dialogue set to original trilogy music, or make it silent & subtitled, orrrr, hunt down as many sound recordings of Sir Guiness as I can find, and use his voice to build a narration track out of it, and stage the entire thing as Obi Wan telling the story to Luke.

…probably takes more time than I have though.

  • We want to show our support of any talk show that allows the guest to talk. So over awkward conversations, hawking movies, and uncomfortable banter. It’s a talk show- TALK. Loving your show and a big fan of Tom Green’s new show. You should be each other’s guests- we’d all watch!
    Thanks,

  • I love the comment that Topher makes about using twitter to announce that their content is elsewhere. I hope the internet moves away from storing all it’s content in silos run by big companies like facebook and googleplus and twitter. I like the way the indieweb people are doing these things:http://indiewebcamp.com . One of their models/ideals is “POSSE” where you post on your own site and then syndicate it elsewhere: http://indiewebcamp.com/POSSE

  • @MattMira Should listen to this episode and learn what it’s supposed to mean to be apart of @Nerdist. It seems he’s forgot how big of a deal it really is to have a podcast @JamesBondingPod on such a huge medium as Nerdist. Somehow him and @mattgourley have become spoiled in nature and overlooked what it all means by lashing out at fans for just assuming there would be an episode every Thursday unless stated otherwise. Then people express their disappointment and it was met with a direct rebuttal of. “We make this podcast for ourselves”. That’s ridiculous guys. If you made James Bonding for yourselves then it would never be posted on such a respectable network. You’re apart of Nerdist Industries and therefor might be held at the Nerdist Standards as I’m sure every other podcast on this website cherishes daily. Yet some of those privileged spoiled rich kids Matt&Matt act as though they are doing their fans a favor. You would think they would understand what it’s like being a nerd in general but in all reality they have just shunned the very people they claim to be, NERDS. When did they become to cool and almighty? All I can say is I’m sorry for holding you guys to Nerdist standards since you’re on the Nerdist website, my fault, my bad. I guess I agree with @PFTompkins in saying “Fuck Off”. You’re right Paul I should Fuck Off, how terrible of me for sharing my disappointment for loving something that is “FREE”. My internet isn’t fucking free and I loose my privacy as well every time I go online, but you’re right, fuck me. Shunned Nerd by so called NERDS = @justian

  • As always, an interesting conversation.

One thing, can someone please fix the microphone noise. It’s been noticeable on other episodes but seems to be getting worse — to the point that they are almost becoming unlistenable.

I know, I know it’s free content but it’s coming up on 500 episodes and the sound quality should be better. Maybe it’s time to get back out the big suitcase of recording equipment?

  • About half way through I couldn’t hear what anyone was saying anymore because of the constant bumping of the microphone so I turned it off. Sounded like someone was trying to deepthroat it the whole time.

  • Guys, for the love of Science Satan, please tell your guests to stop fiddling with the mics so much.
It makes it impossible to listen to the podcasts wearing headphones.
Even on some hostfulls, you can hear that damn noise. IT’S MADDENING!
Love you guys, jesus is lord.

  • Some people often confuse the sound of mic issues with the sound heard by people slowly slipping into psychosis. Psychosis refers to an abnormal condition of the mind, and is a generic psychiatric term for a mental state often described as involving a “loss of contact with reality”. People suffering from psychosis are described as psychotic.

I prescribe that you stop being bitches and shut your shitty little mouths psychos. Katie Levine is no dummy. I’m sure she’s aware of any technical issue and will handle it in due time.

  • The Avengers give me more a sense of its stupidity than anything else. Not to mention, how paint by numbers Marvel Studios has become. Movie by marketing team.

  • Seems a decent enough guy.
I know the ’80s might be your reference point, but cereal gimmies aren’t an ’80s phenomenon. I would remind you children that prizes in cereals go back to the ’50s. In fact, you younglings missed some of the cooler(well, more elaborate, anyway) stuff. We even used to get actual(if cheap) 78rpm singles in boxed(by the ’70s, they got _really_ cheap & just printed them on the back of the box; you had to trim the excess enough, or the corners would bang the tone arm off the “record”). My favorite was a plastic disc(like a peanut butter jar top) on a base/bearing that you stood on to spin really fast. And then get dizzy, fall over & crack open your scalp on the edge of the kitchen table(it’s a wonder any of us survived intact). Good old Coco-Puffs.

  • Great episode and it seems like Topher is a likable guy however it seems like he put down the content that the everyday man/woman creates. People create what interests them, everything on the internet does not have to be polished. Its great that Chris called him on that several times.
