  • Just had a listen and it was pretty cool … Slash comes across as a very mellow but intense dude. I think it was the cleanest podcasts yet as I don’t think Slash swore once!

  • Came in to make sure to direct people towards Chicago for Sue. :D The Field Museum is amazing, so I was glad Slash mentioned it as one of his tops. This is a really interesting meeting of things for me, and one of the reasons I love this podcast. :)

  • Slash is awesome. I was surprised with how cool and humble he was. I wasn’t expecting too much from this at first, but this turned out to be one of the better podcasts I’ve listened to recently. I would bet that Duff McKagan would be a great guest too. Not so sure about the rest of the GNR crew though…

  • Currently in the middle of listening to this podcast episode and just had to mention. Sue the T-rex is in Chicago. So if anyone is going to new York to see Sue, you are not going to have much luck unfortunately. She’s at the Chicago Field Museum. Hope this is helpful to someone…

  • There’s a few of those creationism museums now. Kansas and a few other bible-belt states are working on em as well. And they’ve been buying up Fossils. For a rare artifact to survive 160 million years of brutal geology and crazy 19th century dino hunters, only to be destroyed at the hands of religious wackos in some farcical mythology display… that’s history the world can’t get back. Fossils shouldn’t even be on the private market. Texas’s creationist museum is called their school board, which has the sole privilege of approving the textbooks the entire nation gets stuck using. And they’re all young earth creationists. So yeah, it’s not some small insignificant minority.

Kind of felt bad for Slash. Started to get a little awkward when Chris wouldn’t drop the GnR breakup subject. Otherwise, good podcast, & a truly interesting personality, that guy. Would love to see him present on an paleontology series.

  • The Creationist Museum is in TN, I think, and created by an Aussie – randomly. I only know this because I was flipping through and saw the 18 kids and counting (is it more now!?) episode where they go to it haha

I need a link to that blog with the ATDI pics! haha

“It’s about people in houses and people coming in” – Jonah

I started laughing out loud in my cubicle about Bob Hoskins working at Tower Video

  • This is one of the reasons I love this show. When I was in the 2nd grade, rocking out to Appetite for Destruction, I never would’ve imagined Slash (who I literally thought was a skull underneath a top hat) would’ve been into some of the same nerdy dinosaur stuff I was into. Just great.

  • I should know by know just to trust you guys! I saw the episode title and thought it was a hostful with Slash fan fiction being discussed and I was going to stay away, when I saw that it was Slash I was also going to stay away but iit played right after another another podcast and was busy so couldn’t stop it and it was so crazy lovely! Makes me wish Slash had a Dinasour podcast!

  • Saying that the Tyrrell Museum is “outside of Toronto” is like saying that Atlanta is “outside of LA”… I mean, technically true but not terribly accurate. To be fair, I’m not great at American geography so I don’t get annoyed when Americans are ignorant of Canadian geography.

  • @parisindy: fwiw, I TOTALLY don’t think that all Christians believe the “no evolution” stuff. I’m sorry if I didn’t make it clearer that it’s only a specific handful of people/sects. I have MANY Christian dear friends whom I adore. Sorry if it came off as a universal statement!

  • I am only like 10-15 minutes in to the podcast but i had to make a comment

    GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
first omg hehe slash i love slash

second holy heck i have to say alot of people have a screwed up idea of what Christians believe… some whack jobs do not make a consensus! Its like saying all Muslims are terrorists.. its just not true. Different Christians believe different things.. just like some scientists have different theories. My Christian church believes in evolution and science….we certainly don’t believe we lived with dinosaurs! it doesn’t have to be religion vs science.. they can co-exsist…. can’t we all just get along!

and then …. then!!! the Tyrell Museum is not outside of toronto!!! its near Calgary!! the other end of the country!!!!!!! hehe but i will forgive slash that one lol

I may not survive the rest of this podcast without having a stroke! But i do love Chris and slash :)

at least they like clancy brown! Clancy Brown is made of awesome!

  • So, if I wanted to mail some beer to Jonah Raydio, will stamps.com tell me that I can’t mail beer? Will it thoughtfully ask me where I want to mail the beer before telling me I can’t mail beer? Just askin’.

  • Wow @Brian. I really hope, after you finished crapping all over Slash just for being popular, that you listened to the podcast and heard how polite, intelligent, articulate, funny, and easygoing he is, and then immediately smashed your fingers with a ball peen hammer. The internet already has plenty of cynicism. Go take your snarky crap to Youtube, you’ll have plenty of company.
