  • So in love with this episode. I remember thinking during your first Paul Williams ep that it was amazing – but this one might even be better. I have such a connection to the Muppets as a mid-30 something, that it just warms my heart to hear the songs. And it has one of my favorite lyrics ever: “There’s not a word yet, for old friends who’ve just met.” Love. And I love the Nerdist. Thanks for sharing these moments with us.

  • It’s amazing how much Paul sounds like Willie Nelson when he sings. And then, hearing him talk just after he sang, he still sounded a good bit like Willie, just without that little twang accent.
    “Old friends who just met”
    Thanks for this great episode!

  • Paul was absolutely right; the performance with the both of you was the one.

While I am right about the same age as you Chris, and I enjoy the Muppets, I don’t have the visceral connection to them that you do. Having said that, I certainly know Gonzo, and the duet you and Paul sang made me well up in my office at work.

That was a fantastic moment in time to capture. Thank you.

  • havent heard yet but ive got my fingers crossed that he’s using this podcast to announce Smokey and the Bandit IV has finally gone into production.

Peace n 18 wheels a-rollin, we gonna do what they say cant be done.

  • I’ve been listening to this podcast for more than a month now, and while I’ve loved them all, this is the first one that I felt compelled to comment on. So inspiring, so insightful, I was completely blown away by it. And Chris, you were saying that hopefully people in non-creative fields would also be able to relate to what you guys were talking about, and I have to say, as one of those non-creative people, it was incredibly relatable. It was great to hear some philosophical discussion (which I usually hate) in an interesting, non-preachy, down-to-earth way. Thank you!

  • Wow. Paul Williams really has a way with music, doesn’t he? There may have been onions when he sang that song about Gonzo and how he’s a landlocked bird. Onions at work. Thanks for that though. This was an interesting one.

  • Wow. I just relistened to the 1st Paul Williams ep yesterday. I remember thinking how freakin cool he is and how I hoped that Nerdist would have him on again. Guess you guys noticed my sub atomic vibrations and caused it to happen. Or it is a coincidence. Either way, LOVE Paul WIlliams!
