  • Gaaaah! Kyle is so wrong! I can’t handle anything touching my feet except socks. I could feel the tension shooting up my legs as Kyle talked about the feeling of touching sheets being good. I’m totally on CH’s side here.

  • I remember Zooble De Zoo. There was Bil the Beaver, Bravo Fox, Van Gough the Loin, Talk A Too Cockatoo, and then a bear and a kitty cat. I think the cat and the bear were dating. Ben Vereen played the mayor that was on at the beginning and the end of the episode. That and Martian Manhunter’s real name is J’onn Jonzz. I know that. Asperger’s super power.

  • Everyone,

Gillian’s the best. I understand that she is uncomfortable with fans and uncomfortable with fan’s lack of social skills. Nevertheless, when it comes to entertaining the fans, she is nonpareil…also, super pretty.

Why waste my time saying that? Well, what if she–for some reason–reads comments on Nerdist. She might read mine and be all, “Oh, this guy gets it. I should totally find out who he is and connect with him and hook up with him some early spring evening.” And then we’ll be totally dating for like six months after which we’ll break up amicably and then be good friends until one of us is taken by death.

Not such a waste of time then, is it?

Don’t worry guys. If Gillian and I start dating, I’ll absolutely leave comments every once in a while on Nerdist. I know you’ll all miss my witty reactions and snarky comments once I’ve jumped aboard the gravy train.

    Sincerely,

    Jonny Fudwicker

  • Another vote for any sort of podcast that Ms. Jacobs (or you, Ms. Jacobs) would care to put together. As Mr. Hardwick notes (no, I’m not wearing a fedora nor write for the NEW YORK TIMES, why do you ask?), you’ll find all sorts of people who have loved Tom Lehrer (I was very glad to finally get to hear the VD song he “couldn’t” record back in the day on one of the compilations released int he last decade…and the Boston Subway song) and most of the other things you’ve mentioned here (even if I’m no great fan of what the Sweet Science does to its athletes), atop your resonance with the fanbase that’s simply ready to hear you for you. Think of all the PhotoShop battles royale you can enjoy right here on these pages…

  • I didn’t grow up in a TV-less environment, but my dad did try to regulate my consumption by splicing in another set of plugs to the power cord and taking the end section with him to work. Instead of taking the message to heart, I found another cord from an old lamp and tried to shove the frayed copper ends into the outlet.

And speaking of Chris’ foot-to-sheet contact phobia, you need to use one of those sole scrubbers during your showers and apply a heavy duty moisturizer like bag balm.

  • I want a Gillian Jacobs podcast now! She freakin’ hilarious. I had to stop this podcast and go back a couple of times because I was laughing so hard I missed what everyone was saying next.

  • No alcohol? Ever? I’m sorry, but I must now conclude our imaginary relationship. I know now that you will never respect my binge drinking during Britta-heavy episodes of Community. I guess I just Britta’d… us…

  • @WHTQuemments: they’ll come back some day soon! as for Gillian, I’d love to have her on if we come back. I see us branching out more into just funny people who aren’t specifically comics. Hodgman was terrific the other night! Also theme shows: 3 of the 4 founding UCB members, maybe 3 Community cast members, 3 WWE guys, stuff like that!

  • See, now I want a Gillian Podcast to happen. If she doesn’t get a podcast on The Nerdist, can you at least have her on the show a lot more? Because that was a lot of fun.

She can be the Ed McMahon to your Johnny Carson, the Andy Richter to your Conan O’Brien, the Zorak to your Space Ghost, perhaps.

  • Hi. I don’t watch Community, but I’ve enjoyed the podcasts with cast members. So I may have to start watching it on Netflix, but I’m like Chris, watching tv with intention is the way I go anymore. But aside from that, will you both be my friends please? The stuff you talked about from your childhood, was so familiar to me! I’d be fine with a support group dynamic though. We could get together and talk about PBS Britcoms like old war buddies LOL! I watched Doctor Who on Saturday night, and I didn’t know anyone else who did in high school.

Also, nice to hear someone else say that they don’t drink and never have (I’ve had sips of alcohol out of curiousity, but that’s it). And it sounds like our reasons for not drinking were likely very similar.

Great interview, and I agree with a previous poster, start pulling Kyle into the podcast if Matt and Jonah aren’t around….or even if they are, that’d work too!

  • Gillian was brilliant, very open and funny! Please convince her to get some form of podcast together on the Nerdist Network, she would be fantastic.

I also think she could be great on the next season (of course it’s going to happen) of @Midnight, though I’m not sure if that’s a comedians only type deal.

  • This was fan-tabulous! I really adore GIllian’s openess to show her unique perspective via instagram and Vine. It’s lovely and endearing, more people in general should not water down their social media! AWKWARDNESS for ALL!

The Community cast is killing it on the podcast! I am curious what Dan Harmon would be like on the podcast…

  • It’s so horrible to become “aware of yourself” when you’re on the spot. This used to happen to me in any classes when speaking, and in more recent years during readings. You become aware of your presence, the people looking at you, your own voice, the automatic words coming out of your mouth and you don’t even know what they are – and then BOOM. oh shit! train of thought/focus lost!

The fedora crowd we refer to as “euphoric neckbeards” :p

  • I’m actually glad that Matt and Jonah haven’t been on much, because they’re working. They deserve that little bit of success. I hope they continue to get work.
