  • Caramel Bugles.  They don’t taste like caramel, but they’re delicious in the way Taco Bell is delicious without tasting like real Mexican food.  MMMMMMM, preservatives.

  • Infused oil or butter is actually pretty easy to control. You need to know the potency of the stuff you’re using (which you can USUALLY tell using visual and olfactory ques, or just smoke a little bit if you don’t have the proper chemistry equipment to do it precisely), and always use the same extraction methods. If you carefully extract and properly store the infused oil, dosage is actually pretty damn reliable. If you haphazardly stew some pot leaves in a saucepan without any attempt to control the process, you will have clumping and unreliable products.

It’s chemistry like baking is chemistry. If you’re doing it to get high, not for a medical reason, infusing is reliable enough (with the proper care taken) that you CAN in fact say “just eat half.”

When in doubt with edibles, just take one bite and wait an hour. I actually prefer them because the high is actually WAY easier to control than with smoking, which with the more potent strains coming out can send you over the edge with one hit sometimes.

  • Dear Chris, you want Tom Cruise status? Tell a woman suffering from postpartum depression that
“When you talk about postpartum, you can take people today, women, and what you do is you use vitamins. There is a hormonal thing that is going on, scientifically, you can prove that. But when you talk about emotional, chemical imbalances in people, there is no science behind that.”
Because Tom Cruise is a doctor. No, tanks. I’ll stick with my hostels and skip these ridiculous guests.

  • People have known how to extract THC in to butter, and then cook with it loooooong before dispensaries, the internet, etc. But it definitely depends on the pot involved, the people involved, and the food item involved. Which is why my ex-husband, friends, and I spent 7-8 hours at the Thanksgiving table one year for one of the best Thanksgivings ever, and at least one friend had to spend the evening. Unless you’re a chemist using some analytical method to determine the THC load/g, you have no clue what you’re talking about regarding dosage.

  • Chris Hardwick, more like Chris Hardtolistento, am I right? Side note, I love listening to my phonograph while I whittle birds. Later I’ll twirl my stash while I scoff at people having non-ironic fun. – This message was paid for by the hipster community.

  • Chris, I have never felt like I belong anywhere and im 32. ITs an AWFUL feeling. No matter HOW successful someone is doesnt mean that you cant feel insecure! Chris Evans has been very public with having panic attacks on stage and stuff (just one example I could think of).  I agree w Jonah, dont apologize. You need to stop defending your feelings. Anyone who judges you about your feelings you need to DISREGARD immediately. Look at poor Tom Cruise. Such a nice day but can you IMAGINE not being able to escape yourself ANYWHERE!!!??? CRAZINESS. We all love you. STOP DISCLAIMING THINGS!!! You can disclaim every point you make and you will STILL piss someone off. Just own all your comments. As long as YOU are genuine and honest with yourself, peoples interpretations mean NOTHING. Dont listen to the haters

  • I caught the 3d Eye Blind reference!!! I’m not sure if I’m happy or sad about that. Ok, I’m delighted! I made an observation/pop culture check! Of all the things to roll a natural 20 on…..

@CH: Chris, to be, you’ll always be the “super charming and funny comedian who also has a podcast and used to host singled out.” You’re also kind of a para-social acquaintance/friend who happens to be a celebrity. I hope that’s not a bad thing.

  • Fun podcast but you guys have a very different definition of hipster from most people I know. I think it’s not about trend chasing, it’s more about “cooler than thou”. The stereotypical hipster is bearded, skinny jeans, vinyl collecting etc. A self conscious retro aspect, like they are trying to be a human instagram photo.

  • Speaking of Kumail…get his ass back on the podcast! I loved the conversation you guys had about religion when he was on; so insightful and intellectual. I would love to hear how he is handling the success and everything from Silicon.

Aside from Kumail, you guys are great, thanks for an always delightful Hostful, even if it is a month late.

  • thanks for the new Hostful!  Jonah, if you’re still feeling under the weather, try and add garlic, ginger, & hot sauce to soup or veggies or a stir fry. It helps boost your immune system.   Those E-mergency packs have lots of B vitamins too. They kind of help if you’re feeling run down.

  • It’s harder and harder to dress ironically.  You want to be a black sheep and next thing you know ”cool people” wear it.  Just wait,  in a few months there will be knit ties and mustache wax in walmart.   Good job as always guys.
