  • Also been wondering what the song playing during the intro is, heard it a couple times now and haven’t been able to find it lol. (btw love the shit out of the podcast)

  • I’m going to kill Jonah. I just started Dexter and he blew Rita’s demise for me. Jonahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Speaking of Instant, has anyone noticed the fact that Doctor Who series 5, which I’m pretty sure was on Instant at some point, is now mysteriously no longer on Netflix Instant? Could just be an instance of my own failed memory, though.

Also, I’d like to add to the voices asking you to discuss Doctor Who. I know it’s not great of me to ask you to do a bonus podcast every week during the season, but that would totally be the ideal. Alternatively, if you were to “finish” the hostful every week, press stop, then press record for a separately-recorded Doctor Who bonus (even if it were just a few minutes so you’re not using yet another hour of your spare time each week), that’d still be awesome. Basically, we all really, really want to hear the three of your opinions of the episode each week and your speculations (I would absolutely LOVE to hear the three of you bounce theories about River Song off each other), but we also understand that you have lives of your own. I hope my suggestion could work for you.

  • How could you not like the new Netflix Instant Watch tv show set up? Go to a show page, and all the available episodes sorted by season. That’s rough, all that convenience.

You like the old days (less than a month ago) better where you’d have to search “Dr. Who” and Season 1 and maybe 4 would show up in the results, but you have to do a separate search for “Dr. Who: Season 2″ just to add it to your queue? I mean, who has time for all that extra typing?

In every other aspect, you totally rock!

  • I totally get Chris not wanting to talk about Doctor Who this week since he’s seen both episodes already. However next week you guys have to talk about it. Half the reason I listen to you guys is to hear you talk about nerd culture and shows, and I can’t get enough Doctor Who. You definitely should have a disclaimer up front that says you’re going to talk about doctor who from this time to this time. Or you could just decide to talk about it at the very very end of the show and say “Those of you who have unfortunately not had the chance to see the first two episodes of Doctor Who and don’t want to be spoiled, push stop now. ” That way those of us who are dying to hear what you liked and didn’t like can hear about it along with any insights you got from the cast that you’d like to share. I actually didn’t finish listing to the Jimmy Fallen Podcast (Which I was greatly enjoying) so I could listen to this one hoping you’d talk about Who. Keep up the good work!

  • Hey guys, it really would be nice for you guys to sometimes talk about Dr. Who. Think about it, what other show could I listen to that will be as excited and awesome as you guys when it comes to Dr. Who. I know, Spoilers! But, it would be great for Who-fans to have some Who&A about the shows. I can talk to my kid about new villains, but he just plays with his sonic screwdriver and TARDIS, insisting that the Doctor is not the Doctor, but the Docta.

  • AAAAH! Axis of Awesome played at my school recently and I didn’t go because… I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it.
Now that you have recommended them I know they are truly awesome and I feel loads upon loads of emotional pain and REGRET.
I guess I’ll just game it off.

  • Dear Chris, et al,

I wanted to write to you to say, “Thanks for everything!!!!!!” I recentlty discovered the world of podcasting and yours is the first one that I have really gotten into.

I build custom cabinets and furniture and being able to put my earbuds in and listen to three people who have quickly become like old friends once or twice a week is really refreshing. For lack of a better way to age myself I am a gen Xer. Born about five years too late to ever take a computer class in college (It would have gotten in the way of drinking, smoking, and trying to get laid, emphasis on trying.) I am slow to emmerse myself in any new found fancy smanzy technology like your podcast. But slowly I am coming around.

I have noticed several things I would like to comment on. First, your answer to the question of “How do I get started in stand up?” is so true. When I first got into woodworking I was obsessed with figuring out the “right way to do things”. It was only later I realized that there are ten different ways to do it right and the only one that matters is the one that works for you. Second, ,I love it when any of you say, “Oh, we will edit this out.” during the podcast because of its inherent oxymoronism. We need a shorthand acronym for this situation. One the other hand what are you editing out that I am not hearing?

Keep up the great work and we will keep listening.

    Mike

  • Hey guys another long time reader/listener, 1st time quemmenter.
Theres a place in Brooklyn called Barcade that has all kinds of arcade classics and a pretty decent choice of american craft beers. i know chris will be in ny (cant wait) so he might want to check it out. the games not the booze bad booze #iknowjonahray #notreally

  • Hi guys! One-year listener, first time quemmenter. Just wanted to let Matt know that Candlestick Park is still around, but only football is played there now (I use “played” in the loosest sense of the word, as the 49ers suck so bad right now). I love that Matt adds in some sports nerdiness to the Nerdist mix, as I am a nerdy girl who loves baseball as well as comic books. Hooray for nerd diversity! So yeah, thanks guys, love the show!

  • About The Paul Reiser Show, it opened with him talking about how he’s achieved all he ever wanted and he doesn’t know what to do now. It was like a terrible humblebrag, he has everything but what’s he to do now? oh poor millionaire, successful Paul Reiser.

  • Hi Chris!

I’ve been meaning to leave a quemment for some time now, as I have been a consistent fan of the podcast, have been excited about Nerdist setting up shop at Meltdown, and you and the guys are really awesome to listen to.
Figured since I am currently listening to the latest podcast, just purchased tickets for the May 12th Aussie show, and was poking around the site, it was about freakin time I left one.

First off, congrats on the #1 spot. I’m not surprised at all. I have a constant backlog of several podcasts but I listen to Nerdist as soon as it shows up. (See, girls do listen to your podcast!) Also, can’t wait for the book to come out.

Second, my twin sis very nearly exploded with glee when I mentioned that you were doing a show with Rove. Seriously. Like, the bounciest I’ve seen her. She was in Australia for a year during college and is a serious fan of him and pretty much all things Aussie. I’m bringing her to the show. There wouldn’t happen to be any VIP ticket options available at NerdMelt yet would there? :)

Looking forward to the show, and all podcasts leading up to it and beyond.

  • Daaaaaaaarnit!!!!

Chris I really wish I could go to the show next friday, but I work, and can’t get the day off.

Well as long as you are at the varsity theater, let me recommend you cross the street and go to “Mesa Pizza” it’s all gormet pizza, with really interesting toppings. The macaroni and cheese slice is surprisingly good after a work out, but my favorite is the Avacado Delight.

Wish I could be there, I am certain it will be fan-mother-fucking-tastic.

  • Chris,
Thank you far answering my previous question about whether or not you recorded in the same studio where Feedback was filmed! I commented on a podcast a while back when you described the space (lady in way to tight/short dress walking by) and it reminded me of a Feedback where the Insane Clown Posse strolled by the window. I will now be able to sleep easy at night.

P.S. So you’re interviewing an actress from Pittsburgh eh? Perhaps a visit to our city is in order for some Chaotic Goodness?

  • Hey Jonah,
Sorry that I did not include you much in the nerdist animation. I realized it that you didn’t have one word of dialogue when animating half way through the piece. I felt really bad about it . But I do plan to make some more of these animated shorts for nerdist(if ya like) in about a month and I have an idea for the next one that is based on a joke/act that you did on the show. Hope you still like the animation though
