  • So one day I was listening to this podcast, and the hosts were talking about quemments, And then i had an amazing rest of the day.

    NOODLE STORIES!

Btw, the only audio quality I have with the show, is the fact that my stupid Blue Tooth Indash player doesnt play loud enough. So sometimes shows dont sound loud enough during my commute, and it really makes me mad. Obviously its nothing to do with your equipment, but mine. I like the change in sound/recordings it keeps things fresh.

Now, since that was totally irrelevant to the podcast, that dude can get upset with me, and forget about the listener plugs. I can take the heat, I have tiger blood.

Love ya guys, Keep up the amazing work!

  • Hey nerds,
Just finished the latest hostful episode and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Chris mentioned he has an issue when Dexter answers his phone with gloves on, even though it has a capacitive screen. I work in a lab and have used my Evo4G with latex gloves on and it works just fine, so that might not be unrealistic depending on the particular phone.

On an unrelated note, I’ve been a molecular biologist for 12 years and science hasn’t made me an atheist, it’s given me a greater appreciation for the supernatural in nature.

Finally, when you guys sing the “quemment song” do you ever worry about starting a chain reaction that results in a portmantoverload?

    Enjoy your burrito. =)

  • So I’m at work and haven’t had a chance to listen to the entire podcast (the audio sounded fine), but I too saw Ben Folds open for John Mayer at the Hollywood Bowl in 2007. I was sitting in section R (I’m poor and those weren’t cheep!) and I remember being really bitter that they didn’t bother using the big screens for Ben Folds. He was a tiny speck on a stage far, far away. Sounded great though, and the Dr. Dre cover was hilarious.

I get a lot of hate for liking John Mayer, but he is an amazing guitarist. His talent outweighs his less-than-likeable public persona.

BTW, the Hostful episodes have been brilliant. Thanks, guys, you make the work-week more bearable. :)

  • I also would like to quemment upon the need for an Android app. Even if it is more Geekist than Nerdist, there has to be a quite substantial crossover demographic.

  • i love noodle stories and the Quemments song and Colin Ferrel movies ( which didn’t have anything to do with your podcast, he’s just a really good actor).

  • Hey guys,
I totally appreciate you putting out two free episodes a week even with your busy schedules. The audio is fine– anyone who complains about it is being unreasonable.
You’re doing great work; having a new episode to listen to always makes my day better!
    Thank you! :)

  • I am sure that people are always going to have problems or complaints about something or someone because the person or thing doesn’t fit the exact thing they expected… but why in all the world would you take the time and effort to put forth a negative comment about something you immensely enjoy. I literally do not understand why people can’t just lay back and enjoy what they enjoy and give no energy to the things they don’t like about something that they see is just in general an awesome thing. I just heard that portion of the podcast about the guy who complained about that, and wanted to comment a vent a little. That just bugs me that a lot of people are not able to shrug off little things about something that is fantastic in general and enjoy it all the same. Its a waste of time and mental power.

Literally Enjoy your Burrito… its amazing don’t focus on the small bad things. :C

  • Listening to this Episode right now, but I had pause and comment right away so I wouldn’t forget.

“Recipe For Bruises” is my Ike and Tina cover band.

Also I had idea for a name for your comic showcase since comics you should know is already taken

“Nerdist Comics Presents:” The title references that the show is in a comic book shop by being an nod the old Marvel Comics Presents and is what you are doing, presenting comic to the peoples.

    Anyway, back to the show.

  • I don’t understand the hate for Noodle Stories. It’s wormed its away into my lexicon. Though Rebecca Black’s Friday has been stuck in my head as well…not sure what that says about Noodle Stories.

  • Let me just list what I love about this podcast:

The echo. Echoless voices freak me out, and remind me of how quiet and lonely this cubicle I work in is.

The conversational style – same reason.

Noodle stories – it is a thing, no matter what you guys say, and it’s marvelously annoying.

Hostfulness. You guys have fantastic chemistry, and Jonah and Matt should get married.

Feeling connected to the LA comedy scene, even though I’m all the way over here in Cincinnati.

Awesome conversations with comedians I heart.

    Other.

  • I may be drunk, but I would say the mannequin’s vagina would be frozen in an open position, allowing for exit after arousal has passed.
Love the Podacst. (amused that is comes up as dispelled on your site). Keep up the good whatever!

  • Lovin’ the Hostful episodes, particularly the Jonah and Matt sibling spat interludes, (especially when Matt gets irritated and quiet and Jonah just proceeds to needle him – so good.)

Sorry about your food experiences – my folks live in Austin, I go there about twice a year and always eat well – if you go back for SXSW next year, I’ll send you a list of places to eat. There really are great tacos in Austin and of course BBQ, oh the BBQ (Kreuz’s, KreUZ’s, KREUZ’S!)

  • You guys should make some “Team Noodle Stories” t-shirts and send them to everyone who asks you to stop bringing up that lovely story.

    Love the podcast!

  • Just got to the part about Matt Mira’s Wiki page, and then I checked out Chris’ Wiki..and someone added this to his Wiki page: In 2011, Hardwick gained a brother named Kevin. Nerds work fast!

  • @Chris Hardwick

If you even read this since your on the road!

Tried to make it to your Chicago show on Sat but the early ones are SOLD OUT!!!!!!! A two hour drive home after your 11:15PM show might be a little dangerous!

Congrats on the Sellout you sellout! HAHA

  • So sorry to hear y’all (that’s right) didn’t eat well while in Austin. The food is one of the things I miss most about that town.

But keep up the Noodle Stories and Quemments. It’s this sort of silliness that I really like about the hostful podcasts.

  • I love Noodle Stories, its just like Enjoy your Burrito! We listened to it develop…so people who are nitpicking lil bits in the podcast shouldnt be listening. Like Chris says, the shows free!

  • hah, um, I just looked up and it was actually 8:44 when you said that. But, AM, so…nothing too special seems to have happened=P I’m about to bake something special? (but not THAT sort of special)

A few years ago I launched from ~5 stairs up and landed with my chin on a wooden bench. Awkward as all hell to go to the ER and actually say you fell down the stairs. My dad made sure a plastic surgeon did the stitches so my face would still be ‘perfect,’ but a few weeks later I was looking for apartments, and at the first one I went to a dog jumped up and bit my face. So there goes that!

  • Listened to the podcast on my morning commute and once I got to work, couldn’t get the Quemments song out of my head for an hour. So I made this, and thought I’d share.

Now to put this on a T-shirt before the Boston show.

(I REALLY tried to come up with a sample sentence that worked in “Noodle stories” but alas…)

  • Must resist listening… I have 24 hours of air travel tomorrow, including a 4 hour layover in Japan (yikes!). Must… save… podcast… for… plane….

  • Love the podcast. I’m currently listening while at work (Tech support. I Feel your pain Matt!). I’d like to say I’d never have the balls to complain about something that’s free. I say you invite Lil Gary on your podcast and discuss Noodle stories with him for an hour just to spite the whiners. Just a thought. I love Lil’ Gary and his cousin Tom Lennon. Keep up the awesome work. Now, back to troubleshooting Lotus Notes…
