  • No Logo in the file! *freaks out*

I had to chisel my own logo for this file, mergin the numbers from podcast 116 and 107! (I also got me some neat TTF Helvetica Goodness in the process and created the numbers meself in the sweatmines of Gimp Editor Hell ™)

Dude you have to think about the obsessive compulsive among us. Every time I get a new podcast file I check it for the MP3 ID Tags and alter them to one. I also have my own file naming scheme and still add in the “Hostful” to the hostful episodes.

And now excuse me I have to go to the bathroom and was my hands with scolding hot water and a freshly unpacked bar of soap. So glad I don’t have a tiled floor!

  • You keep talking about the hanging, Sasquatch, jerking off pictures but I cant to find. Please! My life is so empty and shallow that this is all I think about and I need to see these drawings or I will go insane!

  • You know Big C, being a true fat bastard, I always thought it was funny that you would refer to previous versions of your self as “Fat”, I’ve never seen a picture of you in that state, until today. . .

You’re were not really all that fat in the Terminator 3 photo, what’s wierd is, looking at your photo made me sick to my stomach, or was it the 10 chicken mcnuggets that followed that double McFish Sammich, regardless you really do look different in that photo.

Take what’s left of the weekend, and have a blast!

  • Oh, shit. Chris, I missed your comments above, because I was just CTRL-F-ing “Maggie” to see what had been said. Now I feel I’m sort of beating a dead horse.

I get the comics-saying-mean-stuff-because-they’re-jaded-&-calloused thing, for sure. but it’s the creepy woman hating subtext that’s lingering under the comments. that’s what’s creepy.

& i’d like to make out with her too.

  • I’m going to chime in about the Maggie Gyllenhaal comments also. I’m confused by the baseless mean-spiritedness. What motivated that? Was it being hurtful under the justification of “brutal truth, sorrrrryy!!!”?

that portion of the show made me say, aloud, “fuck you shitheads (except chris, who was audibly displeased by the comments).” i’m still gonna listen, but it bummed me out.

You’re right, Jen. I don’t love unnecessarily mean humor. I will say again that I wasn’t making the comments myself (that I can remember) but should have tried to steer it away a bit. Something you should know about groups of comedians is that often they will say the worst things they can think of because it’s very difficult for us to shock each other. No one really means the shit they say, though. It’s just sort of an evil comic ball of yarn to bat around, if that makes any sense. In any case, I do like to keep it friendly for all so we’ll do better next time!

  • This was the first time I had to turn off the podcast before the end. I was not getting the Maggie Gyllenhal thing. After 117 shows not once do I recall you all being mean. Please don’t do it again. Hugs…

  • I was using the collective You rather than singling you out, Chris. I do remember you trying to shut it down, but it had kind of taken on a life of its own. As I said it was the only complaint I could have possibly had about the episode. I love the show and wish you all nothing but big manly hugs.

  • I love that you called out the knitter & breifly talked about yarn bombing. Your nerdy knitting followers (there are more than you know, we have a group) are clicking their needles proudly.

Claude: lemme just state that I TOTALLY agree. I know it’s tough to distinguish voices but I wasn’t trashing her that I remember. I felt bad about it. In fact, I kinda wanna make out with her. But that will never happen.

  • The Maggie Gyllenhall stuff did get a bit mean, to be honest. It would have been better to just let it drop after the initial reaction died down, but you kind of beat it to death and then kicked the corpse a few times. Ultimately though it was just one small part of an otherwise cool as usual show.

  • Hey Chris,

The audio was extremely annoying around 50 minutes to 1 hour 20 in. Tom & Ben kept fading in and out. Actually gave me a headache. I know this happens quite often with live shows but this was seemed worse than normal.

Still love the podcast & keep ‘em coming.

  • Loved the episode.

But, man; someone in that audience had the world’s most irritating laugh. It was like they learned how to laugh by reading a book on the topic.

  • This was a suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper great episode. I loved Reno 9-1-1 from the beginning and frequent it on Netflix.

Matt’s comments made me sad, but the “These are the Daves I know” reference brought me back around again.

  • This was a great episode! Chris, I have to say your Maggie Gyllenhaal pitch sounds a LOT like the movie Stranger Than Fiction where Maggie G. plays a free-spirited baker that falls in love with Will Ferrell, who plays a very serious IRS auditor.

  • Umm… CONGRATS on Kumail’s Newly Being Americanichanation-ing! Been listening to the Indoor Kids constantly. :/ all of the Kumail-grats-ing’s kinda of useless since it was forever ago but it wouldn’t be in the air-waves if this podcast didn’t come out.

Onwards to the guests, This was awesome! Not only was there hilarity throughout but informative too (in the best way, i.e. don’t be stupid, stupid!–way). :/ their AOTS interview wasn’t as awesome… then again it was only 4-6 mins. XD always fun to reminisce on Matt’s blow-job that (apparently) caused an uproar.

This was truly a great podcast not only because it was fun but also educational-in-a-non-boring-capacity.

  • Ya know guys… it would cost much more than an admission price to see you guys live for some or us. The point of my story, come to Baltimore! It’s fabulous, just ask Doug Benson. His live in Baltimore podcast taping is being touted as a “train wreck.” Thatss a good thing right? Seriously though, I came out for that & I never go out. I’d totally come out for you guys.

Okay, back to listening, I have a crappy light rail commute to get through.

  • Love Tom Lennon & Ben Garant but…even though they were saying they were optimistic, it was a downer to hear how everything really works, especially for someone with the pipe dream of writing a great successful movie…

  • fellow nerdistas, trust your old pal Three Toes of Fury ridin the highways in the pork chop express, tom .n. ben’s book is AWESOME. im 3/4 way thru the kindle version and it is amazing read. if you have the slightest interest in writing, you MUST buy it. otherwise, if you are like me, and just love movies and/or the works of tom/ben, then you MUST buy it. the perfect blend of informative and hilariousitude.

    peace n lights.camera.action!

  • Hey Chris, sorry to be a Roman Polanski here, but the Mp3 doesn’t work. They’re’s some runtime error shit and its going down hard. Sounds like an awesome podcast though, can’t wait to listen.
