Coming Up This Week on the Nerdist Podcast Network: Holmes x3, More Broken Lizard, and TV’s Top Writers
By Perry Michael Simon on September 2, 2014
Greetings from the Nerdist Podcast Network! It’s a short work week here in the States, but we have lots of podcast goodness in store for you, because we love you. No, really, we do.
Here’s just some of what’s coming up this week:
It’s old Holmes week! Okay, not really “old.” One of our favorites, Dave Holmes, will be Janet Varney’s guest on The JV Club. You know he’s one of the funnier storytellers around, and all those years hosting stuff on MTV and elsewhere gave him plenty of material. More Holmes? Yes, Pete Holmes will have a You Made It Weird (guest TBA) on Friday, but he’s also on a live edition of The Indoor Kids, recorded at the High Plains Comedy Festival in Denver, with Ian Karmel on hand, too.
More? Well, it’ll be another Broken Lizard reunion as Jay Chandrasekhar visits Chewin’ It with Kevin and Steve, and we also have a brand new episode of the Sleepycast, featuring Clarke’s interviews with Sleepy Hollow supremos Len Wiseman, Mark Goffman, and Alex Kurtzman.
Speaking of writing for television, this week’s Nerdist Writers Panel features another great panel from the ATX Television Festival in Austin, with the AV Club’s Todd VanDerWerff talking to Liz Tigelaar (Nashville; Bates Motel; creator, Life Unexpected), Kyle Killer (creator, Awake and Lone Star), Mark Johnson (EP, Rectify), Bryan Seabury (VP, Drama Development at CBS), and David Madden (President, Fox TV Studios). And on Saturday’s Nerdist Comics Panel, Heath Corson hosts a chat from Phoenix Comic-Con with Jeremy Whitley about his comic Priceless, an Eisner Award nominee.
Even more: Cashing In with T.J. Miller has a live show taped in San Diego, Rob Huebel gets lost (literally) with Kurt on The K Ohle with Kurt Braunohler, comics artist Dean Haspiel drops in on the Comic Book Club, Omar Dorsey (who you know from Django Unchained and Ray Donovan) does the fact thing on Today We Learned, and there’ll be a Dining with Doug and Karen this week, too. Miss none of it.
Nerdist? Well, the guys have Monday off for Labor Day, and there will be a Hostful. Yes. We love Hostfuls. Can’t tell you about the guest for the other episode, but it’s a good one.
And we’ll have more, much more. Click here to find ‘em all. And subscribe!
