Ultra-realistic Hot Toys Gamora Statue is Maybe Too Realistic

It’s not exactly a new thing for Hot Toys to create hyper-realistic statues and figures based on movies and TV shows. The Hong Kong high-end collectible and statue company has kind of carved that out as their thing. But tell me that when you first saw this Gamora statue from Guardians of the Galaxy that you didn’t think it was a promotional photo of actress Zoe Saldana.

And you can have it in your home! Protecting you from Ronan while you sleep!

The 1/6th-scale figure stands at 28 cm tall and has 28 points of articulation, according to the Hot Toys product page. The product that should be called “way too lifelike Gamora” also includes three additional palms to hold her accessories (one fully-extended sword, one folded sword), and of course that’s some real fabric hair she’s sporting (if you told me that it was real hair, plucked from Zoe Saldana’s head and cloned for the toy, I would half-believe you). She also includes a nameplate and logo for her place in your display case.

This isn’t the only Hot Toys figure based on the movie – Star-Lord, Rocket, and Groot have been immortalized in 1/6th scale, but Gamora might be the most impressive.

It’s the face which sells it: almost distractingly expressive. I want to say that it was simply 3D printed from images of the actress, but according to Hot Toys, this was sculpted by artist Hyeong Sok.

If you’re looking to get this Guardian in your home, you’ll have to wait a bit: Gamora won’t be available until sometime in the first quarter of next year.
