The Bluths Are BACK! Netflix Positive About Season 5
By Rachael Berkey on August 7, 2014
When we heard the news, we pretty much did this:
The news comes directly from Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos. He let this exciting promise slip while discussing the company’s entire slate of new original programming and returning original programming with USA Today earlier this week.
“It’s just a matter of when,” he told the reporter, acknowledging the complexity of organizing so many in-demand actors’ schedules. This scheduling issue (and all the moving parts of getting a show up and into production) explains some of the fan complaints that there weren’t enough scenes with all the Bluths together in season four. It’s a critique that Netflix is taking seriously, so we may see a more significant wait before the next season if they want to get everyone’s schedules coordinated.
Netflix picked up the cult comedy in 2012 – seven years after it was cancelled on Fox – and made all of season four available to stream simultaneously on May 26, 2013. It was a huge success and sparked a trend of full season releases that we’ve seen with other popular Netflix shows like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.
We can’t wait to see what season 5 will bring to the Bluth family.
