Zombies Return to San Diego! Comic-Con Welcomes THE WALKING DEAD ESCAPE
By Joseph McCabe on July 3, 2014
Since its debut at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con, The Walking Dead Escape has become one of the Con’s most beloved events, drawing fans of the hit AMC TV show (and the Robert Kirkman comic book on which it’s based) from across the globe. Every July, San Diego’s famed PETCO Park says sayonara to sporting events and hello to hordes of horror hounds and the gore-soaked walkers they worship.
The most impressive thing about The Walking Dead Escape, however, is that each year it gets just a little bit better. Whether that’s due to new and improved zombie makeup effects or the ever-growing number of Dead devotees is hard to say. But what started strong has, like the show itself, only gotten stronger. This year’s event — with its Walker-filled obstacle course — will take place on July 25th and 26th at PETCO (which is just one stop on its national tour). Don’t take our word for it; check out Dan Casey tackling the course in 2012:

And we’ve just received word there’s an early bird sale for those wishing to buy tickets in advance. From now until July 4th, tickets are available for three types of attendee: Walker ($70), Survivor ($50), and Spectator (a mere $20). A combo ticket is also available for $125 . If you want to get in touch with your inner Michonne or discover the Daryl Dixon that lurks within, get yourself over to TheWalkingDeadEscape.com or Tickets.com. But don’t wait too long. Walkers may be slow, but The Walking Dead Escape sells out fast!
