DEAD ISLAND: EPIDEMIC – Introducing the ZOMBA
By Charles Webb on June 27, 2014
In spite of my better instincts, I’m really starting to find myself interested in Dead Island Epidemic.
The League of Legends/DOTA-like is a spinoff of the first-person zombie survival games from Deep Silver, with developer Stunlock building what is essentially Hunter: The Reckoning packed with specialty zombies.
I’m building that impression off of Stunlock’s own description of the game in the trailer, which emphasizes team play and direct control of your character (move and shoot, move and shoot) instead of the normal process of queuing up attacks in your standard, garden-issue MOBA. Neat!
“Dead Island: Epidemic, a new ZOMBA (Zombie Online Multiplayer Battle Arena) game set in the ever-expanding Dead Island universe. Dead Island: Epidemic will pit 3 teams of players against each other in a desperate fight for survival. Dead Island: Epidemic is a Free-to-Play PC title that will feature all the trademark elements that are part of a Dead Island experience.”
Epidemic is currently accepting beta applicants.
