Saturn Would Look Gorgeous Before It Ripped Us Apart

Yeti Dynamics, a special effects outfit that likes to make disco balls the size of the Moon, has recently released another video showing what it would look like to have Saturn fall out of its orbit and land squarely in our sky. (Definitely go HD and full-screen for this one.)
The video does a good job of making everything feel real–the ambient sounds where the camera is stationed, the narrator’s best Carl Sagan impression–and the scientific information within makes for a decent astronomy primer.
Of course, Saturn is massive enough to tear the Earth apart with its gravity at that distance, our crumbled cities forming the basis for a new ring, but at least it would be quite the show.
