Watch First U.S. Trailer for Amy and Greg Poehler’s WELCOME TO SWEDEN

Amy Poehler and her brother Greg Poehler might have already have an international sitcom hit on their hands and it has yet to hit stateside. Of course, I’m talking about their series Welcome To Sweden, which has already gotten renewed for a second at Sweden’s TV4. It’s slated for a U.S. premiere of its first season on July 10th at 9 PM on NBC and it should be a good sign for what’s coming with a renewal overseas.

With all of that in mind, the first U.S. trailer has just dropped and is enticing with its cameos alone, featuring Will Ferrell speaking Swedish, Gene Simmons of KISS, and America’s dead pan sweetheart Aubrey Plaza.

If this series becomes a hit in the States, it would be a rare instance where an original television show in another country simply just played on a Big Four broadcast network in the U.S. without it being adapted (i.e., The Office, etc.).

  • Actually, EVERY sentence is poorly constructed. It’s embarrassing. I almost can’t figure out what you’re trying to say.

    Also, deadpan is one word.

  • Mr. Luna — Regardless how you feel about his writing style, there’s truly no need to call him out in such a manner. Imagine that I, instead, addressed you in this way:

Your comment is horrible. Your tone is rude and condescending. Whoever let you use his library card to get to a public computer should be asked to leave his state.

Buy “Emily Post’s Etiquette 18th Edition” and read any chapter on how to provide feedback. It will make you a better person. Or at least a more polite commenter.

  • I have to agree a bit with Peter Luna on this, it is really badly written. I don’t think I would have worded it quite like that but the point still stands. There are lots of posts that get uploaded to Nerdist that I feel could use the helping hand of a professional editor. Or as Peter pointed out a brief reading of Mr White and Strunk’s ‘On the Elements of Style’.

  • I wasn’t aware they were shooting for the Pulitzer prize for journalism. I thought this was just about a tv show trailer. What I get for thinking I guess.

  • The author is an American comedian. I’m sorry to say that his badly written post is not an isolated incident.

I’m with Jessica. Nerdist, com needs an editor. There are Interesting articles here that are completely undermined by bad writing.

I’d be glad to edit the posts on this site. Would do it for free, actually. It seems nobody at Nerdist HQ is looking for an editor, though. Quantity is more important than quality. That’s really too bad.

  • Here of my two cents. Fuck you Peter and Jessica. I’m sure Jake is a big boy and doesn’t need my help, but fuck both of you. You know that Hardwick can’t necessarily pay these folks much if anything…most if not all are probably doing it out of pure love. Are you paying anyone for the content on this website???

Since you are sooooooo smart, you are the worst type of person. You have the ability and intellectual capacity to see the entire picture, yet you just can’t get over yourself. I can imagine both of you being the self-righteous assholes who expect perfection from everyone around them. Good luck on turning around your terrible personalities.
