Sweetroll Round-up: THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE Launch Trailer and Infographic

By now, you’ve likely emerged from the darkened cave of your home, wizened like a Draugr and clammy like a mudcrab, after playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim non-stop since November 2011. Unfortunately, your work isn’t done just yet; the Daedric lords from the Infernal Plane of ZeniMax Online and Bethesda are dragging you back into the thick of Tamriel with the launch of their first Elder Scrolls MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online. Having spent a great deal of time playing it at press events at E3, traipsing around Glenumbra and its outlying areas in the beta, and with the early access Digital Imperial Edition, I can say with some certainty that it’s a well polished product, teeming with content, but it has a tremendous hill of expectation to climb for a series that churns out diehard fans like a Dovahkiin churns out iron daggers at a blacksmith’s anvil. Still, sometimes it’s better to let something like this brand new launch trailer speak for itself:

Do your prefer to form your opinion of something based on cold, hard facts? Well, this handy infographic should answer any weird, lingering questions you may have about the game’s staggering statistics.

My review is currently underway, but the game is sprawling in scope and I need more time, so keep your eyes peeled for it, but know that if you’re a fan of slick MMORPG mechanics and an even bigger fan of the Elder Scrolls series, then you won’t regret your investment in The Elder Scrolls Online.

  • I tried to play this game in beta. There was so much lag that I couldn’t really accomplish anything and had to give up. Skyrim runs fine on my computer, so I’m sure it wasn’t a problem at my end. I also don’t like MMORPGs…any chance they’ll release a single player version?
