Another GAME OF THRONES Actress Joins HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 2
By Amy Ratcliffe on April 4, 2014
Westeros is bleeding into Panem. Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell on Game of Thrones) was already part of the cast for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, and now she’ll be joined by Gwendoline Christie, a/k/a Brienne of Tarth. Christie will be playing the role of Commander Lyme, a previous victor of the Hunger Games and a leader in the rebellion against President Snow and the Capitol.
Lily Rabe was set for the part, but she had to leave Mockingjay due to scheduling conflicts. I can’t think of a better replacement than Christie. Besides the fact that she’s physically intimidating and it’s easy to believe she beat out 23 other tributes in the arena, Christie has demonstrated her ability to play a range of emotions in Game of Thrones. She could make a powerful and persuasive leader. I’d follow her in a fight.
