The news that Justin Bieber got arrested for drag racing and driving under the influence probably shouldn’t be called “news,” or matter at all. In comedy news alone, Amy Poehler signed a network overall deal, Bill Cosby is set to return to TV, SNL’s Weekend Update has a brand new co-anchor, and way more happened in the course of the past week. There’s plenty of news that will affect your life, especially if you love comedy as opposed to the 21st century archetype of the child star turned rebel going through very public growing pains.

So, with that out of the way, here’s The Biggest Happenings in Comedy Right Now.

-FXX sets premiere date for Legit and Ali G: Rezurection for end of February.

-ABC announces another Toy Story holiday television special slated for Christmas 2014.

-ABC orders comedy pilot from Anthony Anderson starring Laurence Fishburne.

-Epix HD had a technical difficulty releasing Patton Oswalt’s latest comedy special Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time, which resulted in a flurry of funny tweets parodying the comedy special by Oswalt himself.

-The Chris Gethard Show to supposedly one up the upcoming Sochi Winter Olympics during live show in Bay Area of California.

-Parks and Recreation renewed for seventh season at NBC.

-Amy Poehler signs overall deal at NBC and also lands pilot that will star Natasha Lyonne.
