Exclusive: Aaron Kuder’s GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS Sketches
By Dan Casey on January 27, 2014
In brightest day, in darkest night, no exclusives shall escape our sight! Green Lantern: New Guardians, Vol 3: Love and Death comes out this Wednesday, and thanks to our friends at DC Comics, we have your first look at these never-before-seen sketches from artist Aaron Kuder. The finished product is all well and good — hell, it’s why we buy comics in the first place. Otherwise, they’d just be novels as opposed to graphic novels. But there’s something to be said for process pieces, those works-in-progress that give us a sense of what could be and offer insight into how an artist takes words in a script and transforms them into the vibrant sci-fi spacescapes of something like, oh say, Green Lantern: New Guardians.
Now, thanks to our friends at DC, we’re giving you a chance to turn back the clock and see what some of these issues looked like before they were all gussied up and shipped out the door.
Here’s the official description:
This new hardcover collects issues #0 and 13-20 of the hit series, Kyle Rayner and his fellow Lanterns must join forces to beat back “The Third Army” and survive “The Wrath of the First Lantern!” Green Lantern Kyle Rayner must master the emotional spectrum to stand a chance against The Third Army. But even then, a more dangerous threat lurks in the shadows: The First Lantern!
