They say that it is better to give than to receive, but sometimes it’s best to give and receive. That’s why, this year, we’re participating in redditgift’s Secret Santa – because we want to get something totally weird and cool from you guys, but more importantly, we want to make some mysterious person’s holiday season just a little bit radder.

Starting in 2009 with 4,000 participants, the redditgifts Secret Santa exchange has since set the Guinness World Record for largest Secret Santa in the world. In 2011, they first set the record with 30,250 people participating, and in 2012 they broke that record with 44,805 participants from 130 different countries. This year, they’re setting their sights a little bit higher: 100,000 people. And guess what? Friday, they finally broke that record too.

There’s still plenty of time to sign up and be part of the awesomeness, though. Personally speaking, I’ve done it two years running now, and it’s lead to some of the coolest, most uniquely memorable gifts I’ve ever received. Here’s lookin’ at you, set of six Cylon statues sitting on my desk! Who knows what you might get?
