TRICK ‘R TREAT To Screen (With Cast) In Hollywood
By Shawn Depasquale on October 24, 2013
Good news for Los Angeles based fans of the cult horror favorite Trick ‘R Treat – a very special, one night only, screening of the film is happening at the beautiful Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on Monday, October 28.
The event promises to be a star-studded affair – the entire cast will be on hand (even Quinn Lord, who played Sam, the tiny killer), as well as writer/director Michael Dougherty. Plus, there’s going to be a panel directly after the screening hosted by Seth Green. If you’re not in Los Angeles, but you would like to partake in the festivities, Legendary Pictures (Nerdist’s parent company) has got you covered: They’re going to be live-streaming the entire night on their Facebook page.
For those not familiar with the film, Trick ‘R Treat was the directorial debut of Dougherty, best know as one of the writers of X-Men 2; however, the film was never released in theaters. The highly anticipated movie was eventually released on DVD to a feverish cult audience. The film is an anthology of horror shorts, all tied together by the appearance of Sam, a murderous trick ‘r treater in a ratty orange costume with a burlap sack over his head.

THE STORY OF TRICK ‘R TREAT
Although never released in theaters, Trick ‘r Treat became a cult classic through its release on DVD, digital platforms, and extensive play in festivals. Additionally, the film received rave reviews for its originality and ambition. The passage of time has not diminished the fan fervor for this horror classic, which continues to achieve a life of its own with each new technology, but has never been seen in theaters – until now.
Dougherty’s story takes place in a small Ohio town on All Hallows Eve where four interwoven tales – including a high-school principal who moonlights as a vicious serial killer, a college-age virgin who’s saving herself for that special someone, a woman whose hatred of Halloween is only exceeded by her husband’s love of the mischievous holiday, and a callous group of teens who carry out an unforgivably cruel prank – delivers the kind of chills that can only occur on the darkest day of the year.
