Mr. Peabody & Sherman Time Travel From the 60’s into Theaters!

The first trailer for Dreamworks Animation’s newest film Mr. Peabody & Sherman is here; take a look at it, and then we’ll discuss it a bit:
The official description:
Mr. Peabody (Ty Burrell), the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman (Max Charles), use their time machine – The Wabac – to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. But when Sherman takes The Wabac out for a joyride to impress his friend Penny, they accidently rip a hole in the universe, wreaking havoc on the most important events in world history. Before they forever alter the past, present and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, ultimately facing the most daunting challenge of any era: figuring out how to be a parent. Together, the time traveling trio will make their mark on history.
My best memory of the characters comes from a Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror segment, seen here:
Of course, as you’ve seen, the film is taking a more traditional approach to the characters. If you know nothing about the original, here’s a quick history lesson. Step into the Wabac Machine with me…
Mr. Peabody & Sherman started out as a short segment on the The Bullwinkle Show called Peabody’s Improbable History. Together, the dog and his pet boy would travel to a different point in the past and interact with various historical figures such as Juan Ponce de León, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Edgar Allan Poe.
