MAN OF TAI CHI Trailer: Keanu Reeves Directs a Martial Arts Flick
By Perry Michael Simon on September 5, 2013
Man of Tai Chi is Keanu Reeves’ directorial debut. Well, sure, okay, right. Huh. But wait — martial arts. Ass kicking galore. A young Tai Chi master roped in by a seemingly malevolent Keanu (as opposed to Sad Keanu). So, there’s that. Tiger Chen (a/k/a Tiger Hu Chen, who did stunts in the Matrix trilogy and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) plays the young fighter, Keanu plays Malevolent Keanu, and it’s all Fight Club-by (sans the Tyler Durden twist) and stuff. And, yes, at the end of the trailer, Keanu and the kid face off. They couldn’t NOT do that.
The movie opens November 1st after a premiere screening at Fantastic Fest in Austin and a VOD release on September 27th.
