Reggie Watts Sings a “Misogynistic Serenade” on “Set List”
By Dan Casey on April 24, 2013
Now, now, visitors from Tumblr-land, settle down before you unleash a rallying cry of “Check your privilege!” and march like Daenerys Targaryen’s Unsullied on Nerdist HQ. It’s all about context, you see. On the Sky Atlantic TV broadcast of Set List, the comedy show where stand-up comedians have to throw out their prepared material and come up with a brand new bit based on a ridiculous prompt, Reggie Watts, our bearded, be-sweatered bard, was given the delightful prompt of “Misogynistic Serenade.” Most folks would balk at such a subject, but armed with a loop pedal, a microphone and his well-tested wits, Reggie busted out in a four minute epic ballad about a guy who is the textbook example of a douchenozzle. Will Reggie ever find that (un)lucky lady to go wait in line and buy him Mass Effect 4? Will the patriarchy be dethroned with a song? Who knows? While you’re waiting though, check out the clip from Set List and get excited, because next month the show is settling into its brand new digs on the Nerdist Channel.
