Colin Trevorrow to Direct “Jurassic Park 4″

Break out the Barbasol and start brushing up on your Compsognathus physiology because Jurassic Park 4 has found a director in Colin Trevorrow. After making his feature-length directorial debut in last year’s excellent low-budget time travel flick Safety Not Guaranteed, Trevorrow is making the sauropod-sized leap to helm the heavily anticipated sequel about a theme park whose opening is continually delayed. Steven Spielberg is, of course, attached as an executive producer, and the script has been written by Rise of the Planet of the Apes scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. No word yet on whether we can expect Andy Serkis as a lovable, but misunderstood raptor, but wouldn’t that be awesome? With a June 13, 2014 release date, the film, the first Jurassic Park film since 2001, is set to be shot in 3D because that is the only way that Jeff Goldblum was meant to be seen.

What would you like to see in the latest trip back to Isla Nublar? Do you think Trevorrow is the right man for the job? Quemment below and let us know.

  • It doesn’t matter who directs this film, because we need a strong(er) script then the 3rd (who’s story petered out 30 minutes into the film) …. that & the continued legacy of Stan Winston’s practical special effects – close up reactions to realistic dinosaurs, because all cgi doesn’t cut it – (yes I know we lost Stan Winston to cancer, but his special effects crew is still working movie magic) ….

  • What ever they do they NEED to use the real stan winston( now Legacy Effects) animatronic dinosaurs on set they helped the first two movies stand the test of time and got great performances out of the actors. A card board cutout or a tennis ball does nothing to strike fear like a living breathing t Rex that could actuslly kill towering over you.
