I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick
Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

MoRe JaSoN ScHwArTzMaN, please. See what I did there? Not quite yelling–not talking politely. : ) Great episode. Nick Offerman and Jason Schwartzman together in studio=awesomeness, amazing, and any other adjective CH loves to use. (non-ironic love to you, Chris, Matt, and Jonah)
Loved the show!
Chris, I wish you would do the pre-show announcements/advertisements alone–the banter with the girlfriend is not enjoyed by my earholes.
Nothing personal against your boo, but you don’t want to run the unnecessary risk of Yoko-ing it up too much.
Love your show. Kisses!
Here is what I don’t understand about the Nerdist audience. Max Brooks gets tons of grief for not paying his dues and only getting where he is because of his dad but this guy is the same way and he gets nothing but love from you people…just kinda weird that’s all.
I meant Landis..oops
Bastian called that poor princes Moonchild. Because Bastian was really into Frank Zappa I guess?
@SolidCPlus–Because Landis came off as a jerk. JS comes off as a reasonable human being. I don’t personally care how Landis or JS got were they are, if you have a personal connection that helps you along the way then good for you. But Landis personality is off putting while JS seems like someone you would actually enjoy hanging out with.
Jason Schwartzman came off as very charming in this episode, but Jesus Christ guys, when it comes to the 15-plus minute “riff” on the wonders of Nick Offerman, you guys are aware that there is such a thing as “mercilessly beating a premise into the ground,” right?
If Nick Offerman and Jason Schwartzman did a show together called the “Stache Cast” I’m pretty sure I would just fucking die.
It could just be one long interview of Nick and Jason could flex his interview skills and really drive deep in to all that is OfferMAN.
If I had 1 wish this would be my 2nd wish after 1st wishing for more wishes.
Keep up the good work Nerdist.
I’ve listened to Nerdist since the beginning and just had to say – this was one of my favorite episodes in recent memory!! Great, down-to-earth guest and nice banter! Kept me very entertained at work.
Now get Nick Offerman on the show.
Also seconding the “Stache Cast” idea.
Second the request for the elusive Bill Murray audio interview!
Fuck the +girlfriend intro haters. Met Chloe around 2006 on #lemondemon and I’m glad she’s with you, Chris.
Love me some Schwartzman. He is a great performer and this episode affirms my love of his craft. He’s a great storyteller and very funny. He seemed like the 4th member of Nerdist. It just felt right.
Practical wisdom, that said in a cool way would be “savoir faire”. I learnt that word when David Letterman used it to describe a guest who’s name escapes me. I remember liking how it sounded, wanting to know what it meant and have used it ever since.
Beastie Boys have it in a lyric also, that’s how my mates found it.
What I think it is about your cast is that you guys seem honestly interested in the people you have on, that’s why you have had such “luck” def part of why I love this podcast. And i just about lost my shit with the nick offerman stuff
i think this was one of the best episodes yet. you should definitely bring him back for the (inevitable) nick offerman ep.
LOVED THIS!
