I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick
Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

What an unexpectedly great conversation!! I loved all the talk about finding and following your own unique path as a artist! Learning about the Uncabaret is like finding a history book on something you thought you knew, but didn’t!
Thanks Scott. Mary Lynn is fun to talk to and listen to:) Come say hi at a show if you are ever in LA.
Great live chit chat. Lovely. Yes comedy clubs are odd the world over.
Am in LA from UK so hoping to see your show Beth. Love what you said about recognising people’s rhythms and you saying your comedy got worse before it got better. I think people do worry about laughing AT women. thanks for this so interesting to hear your discussion.
We’re at First & Hope every Sunday night. Come check it out.
My reply looked so unfriendly when I saw it – thanks niki – do come – it;s fun – lots of rhythms and fun. Say hi when you are there.
I don’t want to criticize anything about the show because MaryLynn is such a likeable person, but for God’s sake-for those of us who are childless on purpose, there is nothing charming about a kid constantly trying to interrupt and make sure we all know he’s there. I have to keep in mind that most kids are overindulged, and I think that one is, too. One previous podcast sounded like it was being recorded out of a tin can, interspersed with screaming children. In fact, the only thing recorded in full sound was a gaggle of screaming kids.
People who like kids won’t understand any of that, of course. Thanks to Beth for being diplomatic about the interuption. I would have told the kid to beat it.
