Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

“I’m not here to do math”…love it!
both of you, witty and likable as usual
Just so much love for this episode, so much!
This was an easy listen, great episode. I think it’s interesting to see the path Bob took after moving on from his original character. God Bless America is still on Netflix, people should definitely check it out if they haven’t.
Oh, and Pete’s favorite street joke made me laugh harder than anything I’ve heard in a long time. I’m not sure why it tickled me so much, but it really hit the spot.
That bobo the clown joke from near the end is also used (probly not for the first time either) in the comic and movie The Watchmen. except the clown’s name is pagliacci. I really like it too but I never thought it was as funny as it was profound (mostly because of the context from The Watchmen)
Additionally I liked this episode a lot. My favorite part is when you tell the Dave Chapelle story.
I love Bobcat! Charming, funny, thoughtful, interesting. He always gives a great interview no matter what podcast he’s on and this one was no exception. I’m gonna go listen to this a second time.
I’m sad Bobcat had such a bad experience here in Fayetteville, AR back in August….I didn’t get to go but I only heard good things about the show. From what I remember, it sold out all shows rather quickly. We have a very small comedy scene here and there are people trying really hard to create it and help it along so it was a big deal to get people like bobcat and tom green to detour to our corner of the state. It’s hard to get acts to come here due to be inbetween dallas, memphis, new orleands and kansas city.
Pete, i’d wager there are a lot of weirdos in this corner that would love to see you live if you ever get the chance! At least one ticket here anyhow.
Great episode. Really made me think and now I plan on seeing God Bless America as soon as possible!
Hobbit Williams is the greatest thing ever.
Free Podcast.
“God’s a bitch” mwahahahahaha, that got me.
Great podcast, as usual. Thanks again.
Everyone should treat themselves to my favorite clip from God Bless America. My pals and I quote it to each other when enjoying meals together. – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daWmQGmy60M
Don’t know how you do it pete.. every episode I listen to is so good, I can’t decide on any favorites!
Is there anyone better than ol’ Bobscratch at making it weird? Near perfect episode.
I stopped this part way in and went and watched God Bless America on Netflix, and I’m glad I did.
It was great to catch up on Bobcat’s life and career and I can’t tell you how much it tickles me that he and Robin Williams are best pals.
Cheers,
Sporin
This episode was a delight
Sat in the parking lot before a Sacramento River-cats game not wanting to get out of my car because of this damn fine episode.
Anyone else think that for the 1st half of the episode Bobcat sounded like Kumail?
