I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick
Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

Aisha Tyler is so hot, but I’m Black so I have no chance.
Love Aisha. Girl on Guy is great podcast with self inflicted wounds getting me in trouble for laughing out loud at work more than once. Archer on FOX, bitches!
I’m glad I wasn’t alone in getting teary eyed about GoW3
After Columbine, the Secret Service did a study on school shootings and found that shooters actually played LESS violent games than the the public as a whole. This question has already been settled.
The only aspect shared by every shooting is guns…
hi i am abdul kareem how are you
and male nerds across the world lament this was not on the old youtube show. Emily + Aisha = views.
“If somebody said, ‘If you give up your gun it would keep kids safe’, I would happily give up my gun because I’m not an asshole.”
Come on, Ms. Tyler. You’re smarter than that.
Love Love Ms. Tyler. She is funny, beautiful and smart… I can’t wait to listen to this episode tomorrow.
It isn’t that dumb Joe… take a look at how many children die from gunshots in more restrictive countries versus the USA… it is pretty depressing.
I appoligize in advance for the long post.
I’m one of those ppl who prefer to have at least some sort of story supporting all of the violence that I’m going to be dishing out in any given video game. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one to say we should have any laws limiting what sort of violence is in a game or a movie for that matter. As long as it’s properly rated. But, at the very least we as consumers shouldn’t be mesmirized by any old blockbuster because it’s got lots of flashy CGI ‘Splosions’ in it. I mean how old does that make us look? We should be insulted if they think we’re that simple minded. Have a good story to go along with those flashy effects. What holds up better after years of sitting on a shelf, Mortal Kombat (any one), or any Zelda game from the past 15yrs? Why is something like the original trilogy of Star Wars still popular? Is it the ‘mind-blowing cutting-edge’ special effects, or the story behind it? Thankfully there are more ppl out there now making games & movies with deeper plots than just a bunch of burly guys blowing up anything and everything. But, at the same time there are quite a few ‘companies’ that for some reason want to steer us down that short attention span roadway, and shift away from real ‘thought provoking’ stories. Who’s to stop them, I mean isn’t the ‘news’ media pretty much doing the same thing. Less investigations, more shock value news. Aren’t we supposed to be getting smarter as a society?
Anyway, I’ll get off my soapbox and let the internet decide i guess. As I’m really in no position to make a real change.
Anyway, I should probably listen to the podcast first anyway, don’t u think?
On a side note…
“More Love, Less War” I say.
Let’s take a page from Japan’s playbook and shift to more “H/ecchi” games being made.
Wait, this only applies if they’re done with ‘anime’ style art.
Don’t give me that look. They’re only 2D “imaginary” characters, so it’s not weird.
Oh crap, i just remembered, we haven’t perfected that technelogical level of mastery of the arts yet. Not to mention we’re not quite as free in the areas of what we’re allowed to call entertainment as they are.
@ Ron – Yeah, it is kinda dumb. I don’t know Aisha Tyler personally, but I would be willing to bet that she would never shoot a child. Well, maybe a zombie child.
Brilliantly smart, funny, AND smoking hot, so unfair that Aisha gets to be all three!
Loved this episode… too short my tastes. I got to see Aisha doing stand up… hilarious. Will Kumail be doing stand up in Seattle soon? Can you guys do an indoor kids podcast in Seattle? These burning questions need to be answered… okay need is maybe too strong… how about want?
As for her comments about ‘not being an asshole’, I think people may be forgetting one of the key points in this discussion – She’s a comic that is on a podcast with friends.
Don’t read too much into one comment.
As for the rest of it, love the podcast and hate that you have someone this awesome on and it’s shorter. I know you cut out spoiler stuff ( thanks for that as I’ve only finished ep 3 ), but I just wanted to hear more stories of more stuff with you guys.
Listened to every show so far and enjoyed this one bunches. Keep up the awesome work!
Don’t throw away old games. At least donate them to Goodwill and make a fellow gamers day.
