Some Geeky Home Theaters to Make You Jealous
by Kyle Anderson on January 7, 2013
What makes us nerds the coolest (no, really) is how we find ways to incorporate our obsessions into our everyday lives. If a nerd has a particularly huge amount of money, then the expression of their like and/or obsession might take up a whole room. Here now are a collection of photos from some of our favorite nerdy home theaters for your viewing pleasure.
NOTE: As yet, we haven’t found a single home theater based on the TARDIS interior. Dibs.
Any more cool home theaters we missed? Let us know in the comments below.

Wow… all of them are so awesome! That Titanic one looks pretty classy.
That TOS theater looks more TNG to me.
Wow, these are awesome. I know of one, and will try to get pictures. My home theater is antiquated compare to these.
It may have been cheaper to become Batman or a pirate or even go to space/undersea than make any of those theaters!
I’d go for Game of Thrones style; would just need a cushioned Iron Throne and a few dragon skulls.
Is it just me, or is the guy in the Submarine theater watching a Depeche Mode video?
Hate to be that guy, but some of the pictures MUST be 3D renderings!
Haha! Jose is spot on. Certainly looks like Gahan on the submarine screen. Sweeeet!
Um…
Be back in a while, dudes. I need to go get rich.
some of these don’t look real… are any actually real?
What, no TARDIS?
I’m curious to see what the rest of their houses look like.
The Batman and Pirate Ship ones are just 3-D renders, you can telljust by looking :> That Star Wars one is pretty awesome though.
Only thing missing is a TARDIS one. I can picture it already and I want one!
Everything counts in large amounts…
Wearing a T.A.R.D.I.S Blue suit , smoking a pipe. While lightly swirling a large glass of scotch on the rocks. I can thoroughly see myself enjoying the Titanic themed theater
Now if only i had a Australian pop singer as my maid. Tres-Perfection-.
The only things that could make that Batman theater sweeter is a giant penny and T. rex statue.
Beg to differ but the Star Trek: TOS isn’t. The beam in the last row indicates it’s STAR TREK: TNG. I’ve seen the original since it aired in 1966 and watched TNG ever since it came on. That ain’t it.
They should have made the “western” one Firefly instead.
There all cool. But I dont need em. If I was rich maybe I’d make an actual batcave. Not jealous at all though.
Not to be that guy in the room that says nutty things about “analog film projection” but I really think John Harvey deserves a mention here. He built a functional 3-projector process (technically 4 projectors are used) Cinerama theater in his home. short clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWf8yi7VcIk
I’m loving all these theatres, especially the pirate one. I have a new-found love of all things pirate, ever since I dressed as one at Ren Fest last year. That theatre alone is probably bigger than my whole house. LOL!
I would like to know where some of these home theaters are at, how big of a space was needed, the cost and materials involved, etc.
I don’t ever imagine that I could ever do something like that, but it’s still nice to know should I ever win the Power Ball…
VERY cool! I love the Titanic & the old west….reminiscent of the old Theatres back east!
If someone had a 2001 A Space Odyssey themed theater, would it try to kill it’s owner?
@Matt Boyd: no, I think it would give you a hellva ride!
The Star Trek TNG Version home theater is simply mind blowing.
Awesome…I love all this geeky home theaters especially Titanic one.
