I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick

Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

Slash solo project should have been called Slash’s Tar-Pit
Love American Style was the pilot for Happy Days.
Jericho is awesome. at a time when I was marginally interested in wrassling he came along and changed the game with a heel routine so hilarious that everyone just ended up liking him and he became a good guy.
not surprisingly he was an amazing guest too! this one had that hostful energy!
more ‘Cho in ’13, Big C!!!
You’ve already been corrected (former WWE champion) but I’ll pile on and remind everyone that Y2J was the first undisputed world champion in WWE, back when WCW’s World Heavyweight Championship and WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship were unified in 2001. (A new world heavyweight championship was created in 2002.
Y2J is one of my favorite entertainers, period, full stop. He’s funny as hell, he rocks hard, and he’s a great performer.
Sorry but I have to disagree on All In The Family losing its focus when Jean Stapleton left. It was when Rob Reiner left. No Meathead for Archie to spar with and that show went downhill quickly.
SNL did a Love Trek sketch in 1994 when Patrick Stewart hosted.
One of the best. The fact check with slash and his extensive knowledge made it so worth it. I hesitated since I am knowledgeable with wrestling but could care less about it (no offense). I wasn’t sure it would be as good as cm punk. Can we get the million dollar man?
Man this was enjoyable enough to comment… dinosaur fact checking with Slash, TV trivia and almost getting shot in mexico…
Wrestlers are just big physical comedy nerds, so not surprised how great this was.
Daniel Bryan and/or Colt Cabana would be great to have as future guests. Great guys!
One of my favorite obscure spin-offs: Tabitha, starring Lisa Hartman as a grown up version of Darrin and Samantha’s little witch.
Not entirely a spin-off, but my friend has the theory that Firefly is a sequel to The Matrix. PROVE HER WRONG (don’t prove her wrong).
Also, Chris, you can’t play John Conner. You were already an annoymous lab tech in T3, which featured John Conner. That would be a celebrity paradox. Sorry.
Oh jesus, starting the show with the Lanny Poffo story. Already going to be a great show.
Sweet and Sour Cthulu, have I missed a great show these past two weeks! Gotta play catch-up some more…
I was actually SQUEEing at the references Chris Jericho was making because I, sadly, also remember “After M.A.S.H.,” “The Man with the X-Ray Eyes” (though I think it’s actually from the 1960s, not the 1940s), the Fronzie-prays-for-sick-Richie episode, a bit of John Larroquette’s version of “Fawlty Towers” and have even been subjected to “The Thing with Two Heads” trailer thanks to an annual sci-fi movie marathon (WOW, did the crowd laugh). As sad as this sounds, I knew off the top of my head that it wasn’t Radar but rather Father Mulcahy who joined Potter and Klinger on “After M.A.S.H.” Imagine what I could accomplish with the brain cells wasted on retaining this information.
More “M.A.S.H.” – related trivia…there really IS a Packo’s in Toledo, Ohio (where actor Jamie Farr hails from) that sells YUMMY Hungarian hot dogs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Packo%27s_Cafe
What @Dan said! For the love of all that is good and holy, please have Mick Foley on! The man is funny, smart, sweet…shoot, sounds like I’m setting you up on a date.
@JetpackBlues – Oh, you and you CONSTANT pi jokes!
@Canadian Sniper – :GOLF CLAP:
@stanthemanchan – “Slash on Dinosaurs could be a youtube series on the Nerdist channel.” You, sir or madam, are a genius!
@Phil – On the plus side, “The Ropers” meant Don Knotts returned to primetime TV.
Aaaaaaaaaand second after I post, I see Mick Foley WILL be on the podcast!
Well played, Mr. Hardwick, well played.
Y2J needs his own show on nerdist, eeven if it is just a youtube show like Baba Booey… great episode
