Great guests, good conversation, and Kumail and Emily were charming as usual. However, the telecommunicating detracted from the flow of the conversation. There is some sort of conversational lag, rather than a technical lag, that made the conversation feel more interviewy than usual.
Yeah, Al, we certainly prefer to do podcasts in person, where we can fondle the people physically as well as verbally, but I also couldn’t pass up an opportunity to talk to these two. We’re planning an in person sleepover!

I love when you guys have people from the world of indy games on the podcast! The interviews with Kellee Santiago, the guys behind Skullgirls, and this ep with Edmond and Danielle are great insights into the viewpoints and processes of the people making interesting and awesome looking games, without a hundred million dollar budget and a big studio behind them.
The rise of downloadable and independent games during this generation is exciting for someone like me, with a passion for video games but no industry experience or connections. It inspires and delights me to hear the stories of fellow enthusiasts who have faced the fear of something they love becoming a chore, and turned it into careers on their own terms.
Much success to Team Meat, and here’s hoping Danielle gets an assistant or two with all that merch!
Also, having Anthony Burch, the lead writer of Borderlands 2, on the podcast would be a great guest for a personality in games or humor in games episode.

ARGH NO! THE COMPRESSION!
I went to that Efukt website and that shit is HORRIBLE! It made me delete my PornHub and XVideos bookmark. I mean its mainly a bunch of videos of people being mean to the women in the porn. One video is just of some guy peeing on a girl while she cries!! The others are girls detailing how they were molested (I guess this is funny to people) and people going through meltdowns after they have been roughly fucked or treated.
If these two thing laugh at this shit like its fucking Funny Or Die videos, they got problems.
This is possibly my favorite episode ever.
I get taking a week or two off. But if I were you guys I’d scrape together a best-of podcast with amusing bits from throughout the year. It might take some time but it could be fun to do as well.
Click at a few random times in the audio clip, and I guarantee you that you’ll hear the one guy with the nasal voice say “like”.
i barely play video games and i’ve never listened to this podcast (even though i love what i’ve seen of kumail and emily, thanks pete holmes) but HOLY F i’m so excited to hear this episode because after seeing the Indie Game movie my belief in love was affirmed by this couple and i try to get my lady friends to watch it just for the love story. they’re the greatest.
