Chris Hardwick, Weatherman
by Perry Michael Simon on December 8, 2012
Chris Hardwick is nothing if not versatile. Not only can he tell jokes and host shows and act and bowl, but, why, he can PREDICT THE WEATHER! Yes, while in Nashville for this weekend’s shows at Zanies, Chris dropped by the morning show at Fox affiliate WZTV (Fox 17) and ended up in front of the green screen, doing the weather report while actual meteorologist Craig Edwards stayed off-camera wondering what he’d unleashed on central Tennessee. Ogres, a war between Cookeville and Sparta (the latter with 300 men fighting, of course), and hi, Waverly! Plus, Murfreesboro still exists.
This is how TV weather should always be done.

Why couldn’t you come to Putnam County?!
That must’ve been SUCH a hoot for his relatives.
Ha ha fantastic.
If Nerdist ever falls, we’ll know exactly where to find you.
The real weather guy was really into that.
Thank you for this. It really brightened my day.
I love that Chris’ greenscreen instinct from Web Soup kicked in and made him keep walking right in front of the screen.
You know he totally wanted to make a Paul F. Tompkins joke about Tompkinsville, but knew it wouldn’t work on a local news station.
I was at the thursday show, and both friday shows.
Billy Hardwick was at the thursday show, and it was amazeballs!!
Finally somebody called out the weathermens on that wind direction nonsense. Nobody cares. Except those in the Aviation Aficionados Association. Not sure if that’s a real thing but it should be.
I guess I get to be the guy who points out that Chris says “Crap” at the 0:37 mark, yet, at the end, claims to have not sworn once.
Joe, crap ain’t cursing.
Also, this was an absolute DELIGHT.
HOW DID YOU DO THAT????!! ARE YOU A WITCH????
@Eric: I SWEAR you are TOTALLY right! I really did want to make the PFT reference.
Beats doing the local morning radio program!
Hot traffic reporter FTW!!
As someone who has recently moved to Nashville and quite can’t get into it, you just gave the city some likeability points, Chris.
Also, fantastic show last night! It was such a pleasure meeting you again and getting to meet Chloe too! Enjoy the goodies!
Weathermen must have an over-active laugh chip. His laughter seemed of the nervous type: “Mr. Comedian, please don’t cuss, please don’t cuss.” You were fun as always, Chris.
I just hear Chris’ voice and it makes me happy. He just seems so enthusiastic about EVERYTHING and it makes me like EVERYTHING.
