“Locke & Key” to Come to Glorious Cinematic Life

by on November 5, 2012

It’s a Monday miracle! Here at the Nerdist offices, we all shed a single tear when we heard that Fox had passed on the excellent Locke & Key pilot based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s seriously rad horror comic. This was particularly upsetting considering it had been penned by Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and directed by Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo, Never Let Me Go).

In the wake of Fox’s decision to pass, rumors began swirling about the franchise’s fate, namely that Universal had its eyes on the series to turn it into a film trilogy penned by geeky screenwriting duo (and Locke & Key producers) Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Cries of joy could be heard throughout Keyhouse today when Orci confirmed via Twitter that the project would indeed be revived as a film trilogy. That’s right – a freakin’ trilogy. Are you excited? Quemment below and let us know!
