I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick
Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

I’ve always enjoyed that TAH is self-referential and mostly maintains continuity, but this episode takes it to a whole new level of awesomeness! I was wondering what inspired the writers to elevate the narrator’s role in commenting on throwback references as they happen? (which Hal does masterfully, his *CLINK* had me in hysterics)
I was also wondering if you would be willing to share what is happening at about 12 minutes in? After Sadie says “glug glug glug” there is a pause, and then the audience loses it. I’d love to know what us podcast listeners missed. Thanks!
Seconding that question about what happened after Sadie’s “glug glug glug”!
As for inspiration to to the meta-bits, I would perhaps hazard based on the “true believers!”-tag that it is at least partially a reference to similar continuity updates from Stan Lee in classic Marvel Comics?
“Beyond Belief” is always stellar, and this one was better than most (my favourite, though, remains “Goatbusters”. I miss Fraa-aa-ank). I love how the frequently dropped references to The Bee finally paid off! Thank you, TAH, for this marvellous weekly entertainment!
