I can’t wait to see this movie. I also have a rare sleep disorder which was tough on my marriage. My ex husband helped me through many surgeries to get to the point I could be more independent. It was that bad – it was caused by a ENT surgery gone wrong…
I have an amazing doctor in NYC who has written a book on the topic. There are more sleep disorders today because we are evolving with narrower upper airways and also we are fatter – bad alone and in combo. There are also more central sleep disorders that seem more biochemical/neurological with hormonal imbalances exacerbated by endocrine disruptors in the environment, food, lifestyle issues. It’s complicated.

I wish it were easier for women to move on from relationships as adults – we are raised more to define ourselves as wives, mothers and not just by ourselves and our careers. Maybe that is changing now. I am trying to change in that way but it’s been a total identity shift.
