I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick
Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

@toonsmyth – I’ve got another Team Nerdist picture idea should you (or any other artist reading this) feel the urge to make one. How about our happy trio as Diana Ross and the Supremes? For some reason, THIS video footage came to mind ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_VRIHhfQDs ) and the mash-up just seems so darned funny.
@Matt
Balderdash. You’re a holyfuck burger smothered in hotdamn sauce with two or three juicy strips of involuntary nocturnal emission, Chief.
Screw the podcast, I’m enjoying Doc and Matt going back and forth!
Now that Fantas! is gone I think I’ve earned the title of resident regular shit sandwich. Don’t believe me?
Hardwick, your dad was a professional bowler and you have a girlfriend named Chloe. Your intros are 5 seconds too long. And you’ve been nice to your guest. Also, you’re heterosexual.
@Matt Grandis – Aww, someone needs a hug!
If’n your not gonna take it, I’d like that Holyfuck Burger with hotdamn sauce. Hold the strips of nocturnal emission. Instead, can I get it with habanero-pickled sphincter and fumunda cheese?
What is this “hug” thing you’re speaking of?
@Matt
*Simpsons Comic Book Guy Voice* Worst troll ever.
Damn … let me try again. I know I can do it.
Hardwick, you managed to kick your addiction to booze and lost a fuckload of weight. And don’t get me started on how you started a successful business from nothing.
Troll Level: Complimentary.
C’mon man! Take off the kid-gloves and drop that shit like a bad habit!
Well, okay. I didn’t want to go there, but here it comes:
Hardwick, your work is well-respected by many.
Well, I’d say the evidence is fairly conclusive. Grandis definitely came from the right nut. Quod erat demonstrandum.
Ooo you speak French!
Why does anyone care who Chris is dating? Comment on the actual podcast and the glory that is Aisha Tyler.
It would sound to me that this law for trolls to be identified in the UK is probably just to help corporations and corrupt government officials to identify whistleblowers. Since when would the government give a crap about people insulting each other online?
I have enjoyed the verbal tennis on this thread between Grandis and Quemmento, but I must give a double extra high five to Jetpack who quoted one of my favorite Thomas Dolby songs.
I luf youse guys.
Doc, we have to do something about JetpackBlues. Dude’s stealing our thunder.
I knew this day would come. My instructor warned me of this my first day of school:
“Lesson number one: trust no one. The minute God crapped out the third caveman, a conspiracy was hatched against one of them. Get up, damn you! (throws me a jetpack) Strap ‘er on kid, your training starts now.”
♪ Oh, I make you laugh and baby you make me cry
I believe it’s time for me to fly ♫
It’s a nerd-eat-nerd world. Actually that’s why so many of us are overweight.
@Matt, Doc and Jetpack – do you ever get the impression these comment threads are more for our amusement than actually commenting on the podcasts? I’m down with that – you guys are funny.
@matt now if only we could get credit for the exercise our avatars are doing!! Then many nerds wouldn’t be so overweight.
Although I look at it as being highly fuel efficient! My body is the Toytoa Prius of Nerds!
When I describe the perfect woman I often have to reference Aisha Tyler. Smart, nerdy, GORGEOUS! Thanks for coming back for another episode! I luvs me video games and this felt like an Indoor Kids episode which I also luvs.
Looking forward to playing the new Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim but unfortunately it’s been delayed for PS3 but hopefully if they can hash out the bugs and make it work properly then the wait should be well worth it! I WANNA FLY AROUND SKYRIM AS A FREAKIN’ BAT!
@Patty Marvel – Awesome idea. I will try to make time to do that concept as well as your Charlie’s Angels title card as soon as I finish this project I’m working on for my YouTube channel. It’s Adventure Time vs. My Little Pony in an animated Ultimate Rap Battle/Dance Off type thing, and it’s taking longer than I estimated. Check out “Ultimate Cartoon Fighting” on YouTube if you want to see what I’m talking about.
There. That was my shameless self promotion for this episode. );P But I WILL try to get to your ideas in a few weeks.
@toonsmyth – You, good sir, are full of win.
As always it was an entertaining podcast but I have one point to add. Chris seems to imply it was harder to be into anti-social activities like video games when he was younger where as it is now more accepted. This is not true, as someone who was a teenager in the 00s there was no general acceptance of being into any hobby that was generally done alone. I think it’s human nature regardless of decade to find something different and then tease about that.
Aside from that one point I enjoyed the whole episode and eagerly await the next one. Nerdist is fantastic!
…did you say “win” or “wind”?
XD
I loved this podcast so much! Aisha is amazing, I love her, I could listen to her forever. I want to hug her younger nerdy-self. Thank you Chris and Katie!
When cloning becomes a thing, I’m ordering myself an Aisha with a dash of Vivica and a smidgen of Phylicia.
I want to be Mr Aisha Tyler. The melding of nerd and goddess is almost too beautiful to behold.
Why was this one so short, it was so great! I demand another 15 minutes! Barge into her house and record another 15 minutes now! :O (Great job as always, she’s amazing. Love her on Archer XD)
@Patty Marvel – I’ll say this — before I get nerd-stomped by Grandis/Quemmento — I usually post something relevant, but after that gets lost in the din I get swept up in the flow of the thread.
I know you guys have linked up over Twitter, and one would guess that commenting here is redundant when that’s available, but it’s nice that everyone continues to check in to share.
@Chris – Thanks for the double extra high five. *blush*
@JetpackBlues – What’s your Twitter handle? I’ll follow ya! Mine is @PattyMarvel . Yeah, I know, not terribly original.
@toonsmyth – That goes for you as well! Tweet me some pics of your artwork – I’d like to see what you’ve made!
:GROUP HUG:
@Patty Marvel – Not on The Twitter, but thanks for volunteering to follow/be followed.
Wish I still had the talent to creat art, would take a crack at your ideas as well. Even if I did, I wouldn’t know where to submit it.
:HUGS:
Everyone has the ability to create art. And about submitting: just put it out there, the nerd hivemind will take care of the rest.
@ Patty Marvel – I’m not big on the Twittering yet, but if you’re on Facebook yoiu can find me under Myk Friedman. You’ll recognize the avatar. There’s TONS of comics and art and stuff in my FB photo albums.
Goiters and Garters?
Also, is there any way to lock in the, uh, “clickthrough credit” that Nerdist would get for using the Amazon banner? If I buy something from Amazon it’s usually an impulse “oh yeah I need that thing” – I want to do everything I can to support the podcast but I honestly would probably forget to visit the Nerdist site first and track down a banner.
Her letter fucking rocked.
Every time I hear Chloe on the intro to the podcast, I think Chris is cheating on Katie with her. Then I remember…nope!
@toonsmyth Love the drawings on your FB page. They cracked me up.
