I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick
Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

Sadly have not been on a date in years……
Eventually I’ll have to get off my ass and find a woman
Every day we’re sussling
Nice, this was an interesting episode.
Y’know, I still don’t know if I’ve been on a date. A few times I was on some big afternoon outings with someone to places like parks and museums, and it was just us enjoying each other’s company. They kept proposing the meetups, and encouraged me to also but I kind of failed at that. It may have been in the “muffin date” category, but I really don’t know. Either way though, was a good experience so it doesn’t really matter

Great show! Also your new “paper cutter” move could be a rocking chair, You could call it a “granny rocker”?
Oh come on! This episode really re-enforces gender roles. I can’t listen to this.
I listen to your podcast and I love them. I listen in my car when I’m driving around.
In the beginning of this podcast you were talking about the “paper-cutter movement” because you did not know the scientific word to use. I think you were looking for was “fulcrum”. It sounds cool when associated with your podcast theme because it sounds close to “f**krum”.
Here is a link I found for you to learn more about it and if this was the word you were looking for: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lever.
Enjoy.
Hmmmm, went on a lovely date the other night and the woman insisted on paying for everything. So, I feel a little like a failed. But, then again, she asked me out so….. win?
So I like the rule of “whoever asks, pays.” It just works.
If you think the guy should always pay, then all you have to do is never ask a guy out.
If you think the guy should always pay for the first date, then let the guy ask you out on a first date and alternate from there.
If you think spending on dates should be equitable, then alternate on who asks who out and pay whenever you ask someone out.
As for the muffin dates, I realize folks be poor these days, but who spends the $4.35 for a muffin and a coffee is not a feminist issue.
Chivalry and chauvinism where twin sisters. They were murdered by feminism. They were survived by tradition.
Chivalry and chauvinism where twin sisters. Both of them died the same day. They were murdered by feminism. They were survived by tradition.
This is one of the funniest and most interesting podcasts I have ever heard. Please have these guests back for more discussions!
