The Dan Band to Welcome Course of the Force to San Diego 7/11
By Perry Michael Simon on May 31, 2012
You’d hope that when the lightsaber arrives in San Diego at the end of Course of the Force on July 11th, it’ll arrive in style, and it will indeed get a special welcome to America’s Finest City: a performance by The Dan Band, live at the Balboa Theatre.
You know Dan Finnerty and The Dan Band from, well, everywhere, from Jimmy Kimmel Live and Ellen to Dan’s turn as the wedding singer in The Hangover. You know they’re the perfect band to be there when the lightsaber makes it to downtown San Diego. And they will be there.
The show is scheduled for 12:30 pm at the Balboa Theatre on July 11th, at the conclusion of the five-day Course of the Force lightsaber relay. Tickets for The Dan Band show will go on sale Friday — tomorrow, June 1st — at 10 am Pacific, they’re $20 for premium viewing areas and $10 for general viewing areas, and they’ll be available by going to sandiegotheatres.org.
Endorsement? Why, here’s our own Chris Hardwick, host of Course of the Force, on the event: “Truthfully, our first choice to conclude Course of the Force was Sy Snootles and the Max Rebo Band, but they’re not currently touring in this system. But I sincerely can’t think of a better SECOND choice than The Dan Band! Everything is automatically more awesome when you add The Dan Band. True Story.”
And it’s true. Get ready to buy your tickets by clicking here Friday at 10 am Pacific. And don’t forget to join the Course of the Force, relaying the lightsaber from Santa Monica to San Diego Comic-Con International July 7-11, with 100% of runner proceeds to benefit the Make-A-Wish chapters of San Diego, Greater Los Angeles, and Orange County and the Inland Empire: get all the information you need and sign up by clicking here.
