I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick
Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

SQUEEEE!!!
Downloading now.
This is going to be amazing as always.
BOO! Can’t download ever since latest iPhone app. Internets says its an Apple server issue…
speaking of 30-Rock-isms leaking into real life. My friends and I say “I want to go to there” pretty often.
Already listened to it this morning on my commute. It is great! It made my day! I can die happy now. You got freaking Tina Fey! Happy Joy!
What the what?!?
A plaster mask of Angela’s face which was worn by a naked college man in the climactic final scene of Sleepaway Camp. Knowing is half the battle.

(silly place to post it but I don’t have a Twitter account or want to navigate away from Fey!)
Yes, please. Just when I thought this podcast couldn’t get any better, you have Tina Fey on. She’s so awesomely funny, and great. Thanks, Nerdist for making my Monday sooooo much better!
As a nerd who loves Mean Girls…squee.
Tina Fey! I can’t wait to hear this one. If you haven’t sat back with a smug look on your face and told yourself how awesome you have made your life Chris Hardwick…do it now. You deserve it.
That Amos and Andy bit was genius. Follow them instincts, Ms Fey.
Ugh, how can you say the Hitchhiker’s Guide movie was good!? Nerd rage … rising! They got way too caught up in in-jokes (OMG, let’s make the cathedral on Viltvodle VI be a giant replica of Douglas Adams’ nose! Let’s have Zaphod Beeblebrox call Ford Prefect “Praxibetel Ix”!) and forget about the spirit of Hitchhiker’s, which is to actually be funny.
I enjoyed this throughout, but mostly you expressing your gratitude for her coming on the show. I splooged when I saw the name for this one.
As weird as this sounds, this interview temporarily satisfies my wish to see Chris on SNL. Maybe because this was kinda, sorta SNL adjacent?
I really enjoyed the interview (good questions Chris). Nice to know TIna & I have something in common (Nestle choco-powder over vanilla ice cream).
Also, great portrait of the 2 of you by Jenny Fine!
I’m sure this episode is going to be super awesome but I am always a little sad when I the description and there is not Matt or Jonah.
Sleepaway Camp is one of the best worst movies ever.
If you ever want to really treat yourself then look up that Will Forte but that Tina talks about, it is one of the funniest things i’ve ever seen in my life.
My new favorite description of ‘sex and the city’…”I love the colors!”
How do I feel about Tina Fey?…..”I want to go there!”…With all due respect, I love Tina Fey and I think she may be the smartest person currently living on this earth….She seems to be the kind of person you’d like to invite over for supper….So, Tina….Standing invitation!
Cool episode. 30 Rock still remains terribly unfunny for me, though
Great episode Chris! Even though I’m not in the comedy field I am a woman that considers Tina Fey a great role model and someone I would like to emulate.
She is definitely up there with the comedy greats. Male or female.
Nerd love al around and much hugs.
I realize I’m just some dumb hick from the flyover states, but isn’t it a little hack to keep shitting on the Midwest? C’mon, it’s getting more than a little old.
Haven’t listened yet, had to download on my computer. For some reason, not able to download on iphone yesterday or today. Could download some podcasts , but nothing for Nerdist and a few others.
I love this podcast so much! You never fail to talk about at least one thing that is relevant to me at the moment. I am in the process of reading all of the hitchhiker’s guide books.
@Cory: we wanted to evolve our jokes about the Midwest but it doesn’t believe in evolution…
I AM DEEPLY SORRY FOR WHAT I JUST WROTE.
I take it all back.
LIKE!
Plus it’s not like California and New York don’t have have a shitload of fodder for comebacks. Don’t get mad flyover states, get even!
This was marvellous. Selfishly i wish she’d talked about what it’s like to work with Alec Baldwin, but that’s not supposed to be taken negatively in any way (oh Nerd-Overlord Chris-mitus, please know, that i love you!). I love how fame is a byproduct of her desire to be funny. Liz Lemon is my favourite character on TV. Whilst i was listening to this, I was totally lizzing!
This was amazing! She is one of my lady hero’s and I greatly enjoyed listening to this podcast.
Not only did they have a local college kid wear a plaster bust of Angela, they paid him with a case of beer. One of my favorite pieces of information I ever learned in film school.
lol @Doc, you mean something like:
Hey Vinny-sausage-pizza-head! If I wanted to live in NY I’d mug myself!
It’s like my mutha always said, ‘Just because no one’s listening doesn’t mean New Yorkers aren’t talking!’
Exactly! And the only thing more bankrupt than the Midwest’s sense of humor about itself is the California State Treasury. My wallet has been severely Californicated.
What’s that movie starring Kathy Bates as the well-read psychopath? “Missouri”?
(I was born in Columbia, MO, then moved to NY, btw, incase I offended any tigers in my previous post)
Oh, and P.S.: Nice shootin’ Lucky!
I totally agree with Nora – amos beats were genius in the live show. what a gut instinct Tina has!
Hey Chris, does this mean you’ll be on 30 Rock?
only a long time friend of Adam Carolla would make a dirigible joke! hahahaaa… awesome. hiiiiiiii, Chriiiiiiis!
I thought my and my small group of C-list horror movie mockers/lovers were the only ones who had actually seen all of the Sleep Away Camp movies… feel less weird now!
I really like the little intro songs in the background of your talking at the beginning. I dunno if they’re made by you or whatever but they’re really nice and you should put them up somewhere
What the What?! is my favorite expression! Thanks Tina! Read your book, loved it!
Chris, I’m new to your Nerdy ways but I think I like it. Thanks.
