Google+ Hangout On Air With Chris Hardwick and Friends on Friday

Chris Hardwick will be doing a Google+ Hangout On Air on Friday, and you are cordially invited.

You’ll see Chris answering your quemments, Justin Willman will do some magic in a preview of his Justin Willman’s Magic Meltdown on the Nerdist Channel (premiering on Friday!), and Chris’ musical-comedy conspirator Mike Phirman will be on hand as well.

Okay, then, here are the particulars: It’ll be at 3 pm Pacific, and it’ll be on the Nerdist Google+ page, so go to your Google+ account (or sign up now if you haven’t), add Nerdist to your circles, and be there Friday at 3 pm. Oh, and Chris will be answering Quemments at the end; you can post yours right here in the comments below and they’ll be compiled and put in the queue for Chris to answer (he’ll try to get to as many as he can, no guarantees).

So, Friday, 3 pm Pacific, Google+ Hangout On Air. See you there.

  • Question: Any plans on returning to Canada (cross country?) for more Nerdist sessions?
Comment: You must find Shaun Majumder in LA and interview him!
    Quement complete.

  • Am I really the only one who notices the smiley face in the bottom left of the site? also, with Kevin Periera and Adam Sessler no longer being on G4 shows, will they be on some Nerdist Channel shows, or have their own?

  • Want to first start off by telling you I am a huge fan, The Nerdist Way has changed my life so thanks for that, also, if you could be a superhero which one would you be?

  • 1 Who do you sometimes compare yourself to?
2 How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
3 A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms: The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven’t eaten in three years. Which room is safest for him?

Thanks! also I support the request for Miss Stover on the podcast!!

  • I give a big second to having warrior scifi reformist Jessica Mae Stover on the podcast, although I doubt I need to do much to talk up attractive intelligent ok I’m shutting up now I love this photo http://about.me/jsto

My questions: What is a particularly memorable or fave scene or portion from Walking Dead that stuck with you and why do you think it worked well?
What would you change about the media industry if you could?

  • So Chris has never been much of a “personal” comedian, and back in the Singled Out days, I found him funny, but slightly off putting, and I think it was because he wasn’t being true to himself. Throughout the various podcasts I’ve pieced together personal things about him, (like his most-likely painful breakup with Janet, and having to leave Scott behind) And the more I learn, the more of a fan I become. I’m wondering if he feels his latest rise in recognition and stardom is related to him being more comfortable in his skin and persona, and people finally getting a sense of the “REAL” Chris?

  • Hi Chris! just wanted to say I’m a HUGE fan of all the stuff you do. Thank you for being so genuine in all the things you persue! My question is: Would you go to disneyland with me? (I’m being super serious.)

  • Hello Chris, the other day I was kinda down and your mantra “Enjoy your buritto” helped me get through it all. I kept reminding myself to enjoy the burrito. Thank you for everything. You are one of my idols, so is Justin, but he knows that. Can you get Justin to say “Enjoy your burrito?”

  • Hey guys! I’ve been a lucky listener since show two and haven’t missed an episode yet (yes, I went back and listened to Episode 1). Here’s my question: Chris – ever get tired of saying “enjoy your burrito?” It seems like now it is just something you “have to do” versus something you want to do. As a long time fan – eh, I can take it or leave it at this point, especially since it is in your recorded message after the episode. Maybe it needs to be retired for a new one?? Oh, and I was at your Dallas show and proudly got to yell – “But Black Dynamite, I sell drugs to the community.”

  • OMG! I’m VERY VERY sorry. I didn’t mean to post my comment for so many fucking times. I was using my iPhone and it said that it couldn’t be published (for some reason) so I tried it for several times and turned like this. :( :( My apologies guys.

  • Hi Chris,
Wow! I can’t believe I’m doing this. I mean I’ve been wanting to write you guys. I’m having an incredible time listening to your podcast for 3 months now (and missed my train stop for 3 fuckin’ times while I was on my way to work). Yeah, that is so right. I am so new to this podcast thingie. My boyfriend is an avid fan (of another podcast, you sure don’t wanna know what). Matt Mira, your laugh is irresistible. It’s super duper tempting. Hahaha Anyway, thanks again guys. This is Chelie from the Philippines currently living in The People’s Republic of China working as a teacher in a Japanese English School. Wow! That’s too much information eh?

  • @Heathsplosion Ditto. I’m a GUI designer and we have a lot of reviews where I work. Group critiques were fundamental to my design education and I continue to grow from the feedback of others. Lots of creative accomplishments would not not have been as successful without people questioning it throughout its development. How do you filter the unfortunate negative Nacy’s from the genuine constructive criticism?

  • Chris your book was incredibly motivational but it didn’t really talk about how to process feedback along the way to successtown. I’m a designer and a manager, I battle with feedback everyday. I’ve heard on the podcast you getting annoyed at feedback, and letting it get under your skin (clearly some is designed to). How do you process feedback? How to you categorize it? How do you learn from it? What can people do, when putting themselves out there creatively, to cope with the constant feedback? Both positive and negative, constructive and non-constructive.

  • Could you talk Joss Whedon into doing a podcast/nerdist tv channel show where every few weeks or so he could talk about his thoughts on the world, pop culture, his life and work, the telephone book or what have you? Because that would be great.

  • Hey Chris, I’ve been a long time listener of your podcast and hope to hear more stuff from you, Matt and Jonah. My question is this, would you ever interview someone like Sean Plott aka Day[9], an e-sports commentator? Thanks in advance.

  • Aw, sad I’ll miss this. But here’s a quemment anyway. Are any of you fans of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower? Are you aware that a film/tv series is in the works? I can’t help thinking Big C. would make an excellent Eddie Dean.

Love you guys! Thankee-sai, and keep up the great work.

  • On one of your previous Live Podcasts (Austin, I think) you mentioned that you would really love to interview Hugh Laurie. I think that would be amazing!!!! But my quemment is, you mentioned he could make a good Doctor. What if instead of the Doctor he was a reincarnation of “The Master”?? House only has 2 ep. left and after that I sure playing the blues won’t pay all the bills…What do you think?

  • hello mr. hardwick! i just wanted to say that i’m a huge fan of the podcast. i listened to your show during my deployment to The Stan even though it meant waiting 12 hours for an episode to download. i spent many guard shifts sitting in the back of a gun truck trying to hold in my laughter and getting weird looks from my squad mates. please keep the super amazing content coming!

again, i’m a huge fan and PLEASE keep doing what you do!

  • How many upvotes can I give to request Jessica Mae Stover as a podcast guest to talk about Artemis, movie tactics etc etc? The most aggressive woman in film and scifi and my I have to say it — my girl crush!

  • Hello Nerdist fellas-

First off, huge, mega fan! You all have inspired me to do my own podcasting (still under construction but I’m making it my summer 2K12 goal). After hearing the Kevin Smith #2 episode it fueled my fire even more. So much kudos for lighting my ass on fire.

Anyhoo….I was wondering if you thought of making a nickname for the 3 of you. Something schnazy yet not too lame (i.e. mashing your names together). I’m interested to hear what you come up with.

    Much not-too-eerily-close hugs.

    Cheers,
    Andy

  • Hey Chris!
So weeks ago Bill Burr shit on alternative comedy and called it “comedy with training wheels.” Not trying to stir the pot, but I was just wondering if there really is a divide between club comics and alt comics?

  • Hi Chris, long time listener first time quementer. And my quement is if you can built your very own tardis what sort of weird/every day items would you put in it? By the way my brother and I love the podcast so very much. Keep up the good work.

  • Chris and Mike! Mike and Chris!

Great seeing you two at Chris’ Comedy Central taping, I was 5th row center! The encore was awesome, will that definitely be on the DVD, flubs and all?

    xoxo

  • Thank you for making me laugh ot loud! I have listened to every second of the nerdist and it has inspired me in so many ways. You have clearly expressed how you feel about organized religion. In a way your strong opinions was the impetus for me creating my podcast empire as well. Soon I am hoping to have church on church bowling tournaments to challenge different groups to raise funds for charity. Thanks for speaking up for all nerds even those God-nerds out there. Thanks for being you.

  • Hey Chris Hardwick,

My brother, keeping in mind that I’m a big Terry Pratchett fan, mentioned that you guys brought him up briefly in the most recent hostful episode of the Nerdist (Gersberms). I personally think he should be and is very important to nerd readers everywhere. He makes fantasy readable and there are so many laughs to be had. My question is… Why don’t you, Jonah, and Matt talk more about not only Terry Pratchett, but books in general that are much loved in the nerd world?
