The Kids on the Wall

Calling all Los Angeles Kids in the Hall fans!!! This Saturday (4/21 @ 7pm) is the opening party of the Kids in the Hall|Kids on the Wall art gallery! Come join us as we celebrate one of the greatest comedy teams in history at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown Comics!

"The Dog" by J.T. Steiny

Anyone reading this should know that we here at Nerdist absolutely love The Kids in the Hall. Chris dissects some of their best sketches on The Nerdist Channel, for goodness sake. Nerdist Theater employee Danielle Kramer took it upon herself to curate an art show in their honor. Danielle explained to me that the show wasn’t just funny, but it acted as a window into aspects of life that weren’t around her as she grew up in a little Ohio town. Growing up in a little Ohio town myself, I agree. The show, through its unique sense of humor, addressed gay culture, feminist issues, politics, and much more. It stuck with people, and the artists passionately display that. What’s really interesting is that there’s so much content, the artists have drawn inspiration from small details and moments that even the most invested fan may not remember.

"The Kids in the Hall Kids: The Secret Warning" by Charlie Giglia

Don’t you worry! We’ve got art from our favorite artists who consistently blow our minds with what their brain-butts poop out. That sounded bad, but I’m lazy, so… my delete key is broken? We’ve got Julia Vickerman! We’ve got Deanna Rooney! We’ve got Dave “My name’s Dave and I like listening to metal, watching hockey, and supplying weekly posters for The Meltdown Show” Kloc! We’ve got J.T. Steiny! We’ve got Charlie Giglia! We’ve got so many more that I’m not going to list them all and you’re just gonna have to deal with it! BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!!! There will also be episodes and clips from the movies playing throughout the night!

I’ll say it one more time!: Come to Nerdist Theater at Meltdown Comics (7522 W Sunset Blvd.) Saturday, April 21st at 7pm to be adults in the art gallery celebrating The Kids in the Hall! If you can’t make it, the art will remain on the walls through May 5th. Before you go, help us spread the word on Facebook, please! See you there!

Bonus Points: Find me at the party and tell me the correct number of exclamation points I used in this article. You will be rewarded with a totally cool and original high five.
