Watch Chris and Jonah (and T.J., Pete, and Many More) Tape A TV Show In L.A. Next Week

What you see above is the pilot episode for Mash-Up, a Comedy Central show created by T.J. Miller and Jordan Vogt-Roberts. It combines stand-up with clips and visualizations that illustrate the material; you’ll get the idea pretty quickly if you watch it. The network has ordered up a mess o’ new episodes, and among the comedians on offer will be our very own Chris Hardwick and Jonah Ray. And our very own Pete Holmes, too. And now that he’s doing his new podcast, I suppose T.J.’s our very own as well. So there’s a lot of “our very owns” involved. If that’s not enough, the lineup also includes folks like Reggie Watts, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Tig Notaro, Jon Dore, Sean Flannery, Deon Cole, Nick Vatterott, Tom Segura, Chris D’Elia, and Jared Logan. So that’s a lot of great comedy in need of an appreciative audience.

Which is where you come in. See, they’re going to be taping the stand-up segments April 3rd and 4th — that’s Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, y’all — at the El Rey Theater in L.A. There’ll be two shows each night, at 7:45 pm and 9:45 pm (you should be on line at least 40 minutes in advance, so figure that in). And your presence is absolutely welcome, because we’d like Nerdist Nation to represent at this thing and show Chris and Jonah and T.J. and Pete and everyone else on the bill your undying devotion.

So here’s what you need to do: Go to theblacklistnyc.com/mashup. Pick the show you can attend and fill in all your details… and that’s it. First come, first served. Tickets are free. Let me repeat that: TICKETS ARE FREE. You can see great stand-up live for FREE. As a wise man once said, why the hell not?

So we’re clear: Tuesday, April 3rd and Wednesday, April 4th, two shows each night, the El Rey Theater, 5515 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles, tickets are free by going here. If you’re going to be in L.A. next week, do this.
