Our Pi Day Tradition
by Perry Michael Simon on March 14, 2012
It is March 14th. 3/14. Pi Day. This is necessary. Has to be done.
It’s tradition. As are the inevitable “Pi is Wrong!” arguments.
Nerdist was started by Chris Hardwick and has grown to be a many headed beast.

Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

this is the best ‘pi is wrong’ argument:
Jesus fuck that was creepy.
That robot sings like a canary.
That was the trippiest thing I’ve seen in a really long time.
It is also Albert Einstein’s birthday as well.
I’m sure he’d be eating pie if he were still alive!!
Also the birthday of Ben of Ben & Jerry’s fame.
Also national chip day.
So can someone explain to me why is 14.3. PI day?
(Also is there a European trollface?)
DAT FRO.
FUN FACTS!
*The ball with the skull in it is my bowling ball
*On our album “Horses & Grasses” this track is exactly 3 min 14 sec.
*Mike has a phobia for fake mustaches and couldn’t look me in the face while shooting
HAPPY PI DAY, EVERYONE!!!
Huge fan, Chris – of the song, of H&P, of the multifarious Nerdist empire. Posted the karaoke version of the song on my facebook page today, and somebody asked a question I couldn’t answer – who is the rapper?
The rapper is Howard “Dragon Boy Suede” Kremer, he is the host of the podcast Who Charted
that was intense
Hey thanks for answering xando’s question, Patrick! I actually had wondered that for a while myself, too.
Thanks for the fun facts, Chris!
Also of note: if you haven’t picked up the album yet, do! This song is also epic with the intro track included on the album.
I remember Zoom, I used to watch that show all the time when I was a wee lad, I love the reference and the song is hilarious
Thanks for all the fun facts, Chris, although you did tell me about Mike’s phobia of fake moustaches last year when I met you and Mike in Ferndale, MI on 6/10. My friend Moonbeam had a fake moustache on that went with her Oddville outfit.
I remember you geeked out over it. That was cute. Anyway, I love the video, and I posted the link on twitter and I posted the video on my fb wall yesterday morning. (it’s after midnight here in MI. Pi Day is sadly over here.
It is good to see how many people took time out to enjoy half-tau day.
; )
I can recite pi as well… lol
