Chris Hardwick To Be Special Guest Host At “Star Wars Celebration VI”
By Perry Michael Simon on March 31, 2012
Fans of the movies probably don’t need a lot of additional reasons to head to Orlando in August for Star Wars Celebration VI, the convention/exhibition/party celebrating everything Star Wars, but there’s now one more big reason to go:
Special Guest Host: Chris Hardwick.
Our own Jedi Grand Master (what? Too obvious?) will be serving as host of a series of special events planned for the four-day extravaganza, which also includes three other hosted stages full of programming. The event includes lots of live entertainment, cast and crew interviews, celebrities, a whole exhibit hall for Star Wars merchandise and photo and interactive experiences, exclusive merchandise available only to Celebration attendees, writing workshops and other learning experiences, the “As You Wish” charity art helmet project, and even speed dating.
Chris, in the press release, said, “Every summer since 1977 has been a Star Wars summer for me, but this’ll be the one to remember. The only thing that could top seeing Wookiees, stormtroopers and slave Leias jog for charity would be serving as one of the hosts for Star Wars Celebration VI.” And that’s happening.
The party is scheduled for August 23rd through 26th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, and you can get all the information you need by clicking here and you can buy your tickets by clicking here.
And while we’re on the Star Wars beat, this is as good a time as any to remind you about the Course of the Force relay, which starts on July 7th and will make its way down the coast from Santa Monica to San Diego on July 11th to kick off preview night at San Diego Comic-Con International. You can join folks like Drew Carey, Jim Gaffigan, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Alison Haislip, Alex Albrecht, Saber stars and producers Clare Grant and Rileah Vanderbilt, and many more in the run/walk and help out the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the process by going to courseoftheforce.com and signing up. And may the for… the… what’s that phrase again?
