Murray Gold, On YouTube, Playing “I Am the Doctor”
by Perry Michael Simon on January 5, 2012
So, this guy going by the name “TerrifiedDuck” on YouTube did this video of himself and described it as “A person playing a piece at the piano…”
Except it’s actually Murray Gold, composer and arranger of the music for Doctor Who since the 2005 reboot.
And the piece is the Eleventh Doctor’s theme, “I Am the Doctor.”
So, yeah, cool.

Love Murray Gold and all the great music he’s written for Doctor Who since the reboot.
How awesome is that, I listen to this track so much and I’ve listened to loads of piano versions, this is just amazing.
Nice ending. I’ve always liked this piece, and how it’s in 7/4 time, which, of course, adds up to 11.
BAH. Murray Gold. What a man. 7/4 and all.
Murray Gold’s adorable. I always loved when he popped up on DW: Confidential.
Love it!
That’s just cheating!
I thought he’d be older…
Very awesome though!
oh my God, that was awesome. Thanks for the post!
beautiful and badass at the same time.
I would love for Murray Gold to write my theme music. (This is the music I used for Chris Hardwick’s birthday video.)
Murray Gold’s music makes Doctor Who so much more powerful! I love what he did for the theme. I cannot say enough good things about him as a composer. <3
just …wow
